S2 Breakthrough is a data-driven softball facility where hitting and pitching training methods are informed by research and backed by data. Clients can train at S2 Breakthrough in pitching, hitting, or both. Each session includes their individually tailored warm up, skill instruction, and strength training program. These individual plans are formed from an initial assessment using different forms

of data/technology such as Rapsodo, Blast Motion, and 4D Motion, and continually monitored throughout their time training at S2. For athletes under 13, we offer Next Gen classes that include a 40 minute strength and mobility session and ends with 20 minutes of skill training. Next Gen is tailored to teach young athletes how to move efficiently in areas required for softball. S2 offers training remotely or in house! S2 Breakthrough also has resources for coaches, parents, or anyone wanting to further their education in softball. Stream S2 is offered for $150 per year and is a subscription to educational videos about data-driven softball, hitting, pitching, strength training, biomechanics and more! Head to our website: S2breakthrough.com for more information about training remote or in house, Stream S2, and products sold!

The offseason is when champions are built.

Katie Stewart. Two titles. Already working on the third.

If you want to get better you have to assess first.

Without an assessment you do not know what you are training. You are guessing. And it is exponentially less targeted and exponentially less effective than it needs to be.

Playing more games does not make you better on its own. There has to be training. And training without an assessment means you cannot fully understand what you are dealing with.

Driveline Softball is at the absolute peak of where it has ever been. The most powerful level of information available. Use it.

The more you throw at full intent, the more likely breakdowns become.

Low intensity work is where pitchers actually build patterns. Constraint led training through plyo weights, weighted softballs, overload and underload, and changing start types. That's the foundation.

There is a very small percentage of athletes with enough innate ability to get opportunities at the next level without real development. Most are not that athlete.

And the overwhelming majority of athletes who rely only on game results to measure progress are on a merry go round. Not changing year after year. Not in velo. Not in movement quality. Not in strength, power, ball flight data, break profile, or off-speed variability.

If the only thing you are measuring is whether an exhausted travel ball hitter got a hit off you, you have no idea about the X's and O's that are actually going on.

One of our most listened to episodes since the rebrand and it is not hard to see why.

The overwhelming majority of pitchers in this country are still operating without any data. No measurements. No composite score. No idea if anything they are doing is actually working.

Episode 100 of the Driveline Softball Podcast covers how advanced biomechanics reporting is revolutionizing pitcher development, what the new composite score report actually tells you, and why the softball pitching revolution starts with having the right information.

Ashley Tobar Sunshine and Dr. Laura McDonald on what the revolution looks like from the inside.

The moment the season ends, get assessed.

Not in January. Not after the holidays. Right now. Because seeing who you are in the second week of November with the sharpest lenses possible is what allows you to build the most informed plan going into the offseason.

Then when you get assessed again before high school ball starts, you actually get to see the reward of everything you put in. The data shows you exactly what changed and why.

That is how the offseason becomes more than just training. It becomes proof.

Reactive strength is being ignored in female athletes. The assumption has always been that they are just not going to have it. That is not what the data is showing.

A hitter with low reactive strength is going to struggle with decision making and twitchiness at the plate. And a lot of kids are coming in with high upper body strength but low reactive strength. That is a really clear coaching point.

You have a good strength base. Now how do we play into that on the hitting side? Because to be a complete hitter you have to hit all of it. And nine times out of ten the floor that is missing is strength.

Assume your parents gave you average genetics. Average baseline ability. Because if you walk around thinking you are naturally gifted beyond where you currently are, you are not going to train hard enough to actually get there.

Want to be above average? Check every single box.

Three square meals and at least two snacks. Eight plus hours of sleep every single night. Figuring out your schedule so you are not doing homework at 1am cramming the night before. And getting the most out of every session with your coaches by actually having conversations.

Average is the starting point. What you do with it is everything.

If a pitching coach is telling you train with me and I will get you to throw 65, that is a myth.

What actually drives velo starts with the engine. What is physically available to you. That gives a much better picture of how hard you would be expected to throw. Then comes the biomechanics report. Measuring your patterns, your trunk arm dynamic, and identifying exactly which variables are linked to velo and where you are leaking energy.

That is what Driveline actually looks at. Not a promise. A picture of what is real and what is possible.
