Tonight was a BIG night for our Nova Athletics 6U Twinkles — their very first practice of the season! 🌟💫

These little stars stepped onto the floor ready to learn, move, smile, and SHINE! From new skills to new friendships, tonight was just the beginning of something SO special. 🥹🩷

💙✨ Meet Our Program Director – Marissa! ✨💙

We’re so excited to introduce the heart behind Nova Athletics!

🌟 Years as an Athlete: 21 years (cheering since age 4!) and still cheering on our adult exhibition team at North Star!
📣 Years as a Coach: 16 years
🎶 Choreographer: 14 years
🏆 Professional Cheerleading Judge: 14 years
👩‍👧‍👦 Mom of 3: Proud mom of three!

Marissa has dedicated her life to the sport of cheerleading. From stepping onto the mat as a young athlete to coaching, choreographing, and judging teams across the country, her passion has always been helping athletes grow both on and off the competition floor.

Her vision for Nova Athletics is to create a positive, supportive environment where every athlete feels valued, challenged, and inspired to become the best version of themselves. She believes success isn’t measured only by trophies, but by the confidence, friendships, leadership, and life skills athletes develop along the way.

💙 Marissa can’t wait to welcome every athlete into the Nova family and is excited to build something truly special together. ✨

We’re excited to introduce Coach Beth, Assistant Coach for our Nova Twinkles and Nova Velocity teams!

⭐ Years as an Athlete: Cheered in high school and joined the NorthStar family in 2025.
⭐ Years as a Coach: First season! ❤️
⭐ Favorite Position: Base (but she’s also an awesome back spot!)

Coach Beth discovered her love for coaching while student coaching Pop Warner in high school. She joined Nova because of the family atmosphere and the commitment to helping every athlete grow in confidence, celebrate their progress, and feel proud of themselves—no matter where they start.
