I've been pretty quiet lately. Life and work have taken a lot of time from the water lately, and that's ok. I'm still tying jigs here and there when I can. I do have an itch to hit some local brush piles for some crappie.

Little jerkbait tip...wire to achieve deeper depths. Or this morning I fishing a ledge facing the wind ledge was 4' drop was 9' Bass where in the 9' hugging bottom, Casting into the wind I couldn't carry the distance to cover the 9` foot. So I went to a deeper jerk bait, same distance but quicker to bottom. Wire wrapped treble hooks might of lead to same result but it was quicker to go from a +1 to a
+2. Wire wrap will drop the depth and it will stall the action of jerkbaits. Sometimes that's a good thing.
