Daniel Calhoun and his #4 RCR team captured his first Mid-Am Racing Series Championship at LaCrosse Speedway on Saturday night. The Hiller Farms Just Machinery Movers entry needed to finish 8th or better regardless of how Kenny Richards finished. Calhoun crossed the line 7th in the 25 lap feature and took the championship by 8 points over the Southeast Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Famer, Richards.

THIS IS MID-AM RACING…

Last night, Scotty Gardner Jr. was involved in a wreck that destroyed his race car, seemingly ending his weekend.

But fellow competitor Greg Beebe, driver of the #98 Excel Concrete Coatings Ford stepped up and offered Scotty his car to race in tonight’s Mid-Am finale.

Then disaster struck again. Scotty climbed behind the wheel, only to have the throttle stick wide open heading into Turn 1.

Now, in a remarkable show of sportsmanship, crew members from the teams of Kevin Murphy, Kellen Arnold, Marqus Hoover, Scotty Gardner Jr. and others have all come together, thrashing to get the car ready for tonight’s finale.

Different teams. Different drivers. One racing family.

This is grassroots racing at its finest. Competitors on the track, but a community that comes together when it matters most.

This is what the Mid-Am Racing Series is all about. 🏁
