I have been recovering from surgery but have been cleared to get back to work! Got back in the saddle yesterday. Plenty of openings now that the sky is clear of smoke too! I have clients all over the valley and happily willing to drive. Lessons, training sessions for both owner and horse, starting babies, and different levels of training available. Give me a call!
Pic 1: One of my young (and this one is green) OTTBs on his first trail ride and camping trip, beginning of summer.
Pic 2: Client horse working in a “pessoa lunging system” to aid in helping her learn with herself in control more into using her core, engaging her hind end, and framing herself up. Current goal in her overall training is to have her engage herself with a lower, relaxed headset with a super soft mouth. She is an 8 year old QH with a base in reining training, now general riding horse and gaming.
Pic 3: Client and her rescue horse. Mare is 11 years old and was severely abused almost her whole life. Lots of trust issues. Petrified of being touched, especially her legs. Here we are working on a very basic method of lunging at a walk to work on their relationship and giving this sweet mare something to feel accomplished at - slowly. They both improve every session.
Pic 4: Riding lesson with client and horse in pic 2. She is amazing, recovering from a full knee replacement still. This mare loves to take control and requires a very soft understanding hand that also will not let her get away with something when it turns into a game for her. Their relationship has been improving, and both are relaxing to the point that they can now start going through the levels under saddle. Here, were working on the connection between them and getting them both to relax. The mare is stretching and lowering her head, and I felt confident after i took
this about moving into the next gait (a trot).
