Here are my top 5 baits for June bass fishing:

1. Bass Mafia Capo Deep Diving Crankbait – Fish this on offshore ledges and brush piles where those post-spawn fish are starting to set up.
2. Core Tackle 3/0 Dice Rig + Hag's Baits Prickly Pear – This is killer when fished around shallow ledges, rock piles, and brush piles.
3. Nichols Lures Ben Parker Magnum Flutter Spoon – This massive 8-inch flutter spoon is great on deeper ledges when you're targeting big schools of bass.
4. Core Tackle 4/0 3/8oz T**h + 5.5" Hog Farmer Bait Company S***k Shad – A fantastic alternative to a traditional hair jig on offshore ledges that gets a ton of bites.
5. 1oz Carolina Rig + Yamamoto Baits Yama Bug – The ultimate cleanup bait for any offshore structure you'll fish in June after the initial bite slows down.

Big baits take up a ton of space and always seem to get tangled together. The Evolution Outdoor, LLC QuickLatch 3700 Deep Tackle Tray solves that problem completely. It offers plenty of room for big crankbaits and giant swimbaits so you can bring all the backups and colors you need for a day of offshore fishing.

Putting the new Core Tackle Dice Rig to work on an Arkansas lake. This tank came right out of the brush pile and loaded up on that Coike Fullcast.

Dragging a black Zoom Bait Trick Worm on a shakey head is a huge thing on the East Coast, and I have brought it over to Arkansas and have been absolutely cracking them. The secret is throwing a stout enough hook like this Dirty Jigs Tackle Scott Canterbury Shakey Head on a baitcaster with 17 pound fluorocarbon to pull giants out of heavy cover.

Switching to these Evolution Outdoor, LLC Bass Sacks for my clamshell plastics this year has been a game changer.

Upgrading to Pro-Guide Batteries Alpha Line Lithium batteries lets you monitor your voltage and state of charge directly on your Lowrance HDS Pro. Just head to your instruments panel, edit the view, and select your connected batteries. It is the easiest way to keep tabs on your power.

Deep crankbait season is here! Cranked up a bag with the Bass Mafia Capo 15R on Grand Lake this week.

May and June are the best months for deep cranking on offshore ledges. These bass were set up on a shallow ledge that topped out in 4-6ft of water and dropped into 30ft. These shallower ledges are great when the bass first move offshore in the post-spawn.

Even though I was cranking in 4-6ft, I was still using a 15ft diving crankbait. I like a bigger bait in the post-spawn when bass are feeding heavily and I also want to grind the crankbait in the rocks and shells to get reaction bites. I do use 20lb monofilament line to make the crankbait run 4-5 feet shallow so it doesn’t dig too much. The Bass Mafia Capo 15 is great at coming through rocks and brush, even in shallower water, making it a great choice when cranking shallow ledges.

The ledge bite is heating up and one of my go-to ledge baits is the Core Tackle 4/0 3/8oz T**H in a Hog Farmer Bait Company 5.5in S***k Shad.

This has replaced a hair jig for me in May and June and always helps me get a few extra bites out of offshore summer schools. I fish this rig by letting it sink for 5-10 seconds and then hopping my rod 2-3 times. I then let it fall for another 3-5 second and hop it again. You want to keep this rig above the fish and draw them off the bottom. If the fish are in 15ft, try to work the bait in 8-10ft of water.

My favorite thing about this rig is that you don’t need FFS to make it work. I caught 5 solid fish this week with it on Grand Lake without FFS, three of them over 3.5 pounds. It’s a great alternative to a jig head minnow if you don’t want to use Livescope and I find it can work even better in a lot of situations.

A flutter spoon is one of the best ways to get big bass offshore in the post-spawn and summertime.

My go-to is the 6.5in Bass Mafia /Nichols Lures Big Larry spoon for a few unique reasons.

First, the concave shape allows you to cast it much easier into the wind. Second, it falls away from the boat as it sinks, letting you reach pressured fish 90 to 120 feet away. Finally, it backslides when hopped and features premium paint finishes that trigger extra bites.
