Join a litter cleanup at Horseshoe Bend on the Illinois River in Oklahoma with the Armed Forces Initiative of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers on Saturday, June 27th from 8 AM - 1 PM!

This public access is a treasured spot to many in Oklahoma, so let's help keep it litter-free and beautiful! Thank you to AFI for leading this initiative, we are excited to work alongside your team and volunteers to improve water quality in the Illinois River Watershed.

We are excited to share the launch of the Illinois River Watershed Geospatial Information System (GIS) Portal! With just a few clicks, users can:

Explore streamflow gages, water quality monitoring stations, wetlands, and land use changes across Arkansas and Oklahoma portions of the watershed.

See where existing recreational access and assets are located on the Illinois River and its tributaries in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Overlay areas of ecological significance, prioritize subwatersheds for non-point source nutrient reduction projects, and identify open space priorities for planning purposes.

Fishing was horrible for us last weekend. Conner was able to capture this spawn bed on Sunday. Seems this male is patrolling and protecting us usual. This was the only bed we saw in 3 miles of creek. We never fish beds during the spawn. Give nature a chance and watch your step if you're wading. Awesome footage hope you enjoy.

It’s time to announce the two winners of the annual Wade & Fish with CASTAFLY drawing!

Each year, I try to make this event happen because I truly enjoy connecting with good people who appreciate what we do. It’s my way of saying thank you for your support while sharing some of the most beautiful stretches of the Ozarks. Not only will these anglers join me on the water, but they’ll also be featured in an upcoming CASTAFLY episode.
