⚾ Played in the Mets, Reds and Royals organizations

Today, he pours that experience into his players, focusing on fundamentals, baseball IQ, confidence, accountability and being a great teammate.

Off the field, DJ and his beautiful wife Erin have three boys, Landon, Parker and Trey, who have grown up playing and loving the game just like their dad. 🧡⚾

For DJ, it’s always been about more than baseball. Better players. Better teammates. Better young men. 💪🔥

⚾ Welcome Coach Ian Barwick to Five Tool Baseball! ⚾

We are excited to officially welcome Coach Ian Barwick as the new Head Coach of our 12U Five Tool Baseball (Blue) team!

Ian was born and raised in South Carolina and is a devoted husband to his wife, Jessica, and proud father to their three boys—TJ (11), Sawyer (9), and Ollie (6).

Coach Ian brings nearly 20 years of coaching experience, working with athletes at every level, including college baseball and professional baseball with the Tampa Bay Rays organization in strength and conditioning. His passion for the game started at a young age, learning from his father, a 6-time South Carolina High School State Championship baseball coach.

What makes Coach Ian such a great fit for Five Tool Baseball is his passion for developing young athletes—not just as baseball players, but as young men. He believes baseball is one of life’s greatest teachers, helping build humility, hard work, selflessness, and character.

His coaching philosophy says it best:

“Youth baseball has become such a ME game when, in reality, it’s at its best when it becomes a WE game. My teams will always be grounded in humility, hard work, fun, and fundamentals. Let’s play ball!”

Coach Ian’s values align perfectly with what we practice at Five Tool Baseball, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him leading our 12U team.

Today was the greatest victory of all as Micah Hood publicly declared his faith through baptism! We are so proud of him and this incredible group of boys who continue to put God first—on and off the baseball field.

🚨⚾ 5 Tool Baseball Makeup Tryouts ⚾🚨

Due to the number of requests we’ve received, we’ll be holding a Makeup Tryout for players who were unable to attend our original tryout dates.

This makeup tryout is open to all age groups (8U-12U) and is intended for players who missed our initial tryouts.

If you know someone who is still looking for a team this fall, please share this post with them!
