Help Shape the Future of Rocky River Recreation!

The City of Rocky River is developing a new Parks & Recreation Strategic Plan, and we want to hear from you!

Residents and community members are invited to participate in a series of public conversations on Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23. These sessions are an opportunity to share your experiences, priorities and ideas as we plan for the future of recreation programs, facilities and services in Rocky River. The two sessions will be held in the pavilion at Hamilton Ice Arena at 21018 Hilliard Blvd.

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS

Tuesday, September 22
5:30–6:30 p.m. — Community Conversation & Public Meeting
6:45–7:45 p.m. — Youth Sports Conversation

Wednesday, September 23
9:30–10:30 a.m. — Community Conversation & Public Meeting
11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. — Community Conversation & Public Meeting
2:00–3:00 p.m. — Senior Programming Conversation

The three general Community Conversations are open to anyone interested in sharing feedback about the future of Rocky River Recreation. The Youth Sports Conversation will focus specifically on the experiences and needs of youth athletes, families, coaches and sports organizations, while the Senior Programming Conversation will focus on recreation, wellness and social opportunities for older adults.

Choose the session that works best for you and come share your voice!

Your input will help identify community priorities and guide recommendations for the future of Rocky River Recreation.

Become a Certified Lifeguard!

Ready to make a difference, build valuable skills, and enjoy a rewarding job? Rocky River Rec is offering a Lifeguard Certification Class!

Rocky River Recreation will hire for Fall 2026 after successful completion of class, interview and background check. FREE registration for Rocky River residents AND Civic Center members and full reimbursement for non-residents that commit to working six months in good standing for our department. A contract must be signed at registration by a parent or guardian of those under the age of 18.

Members and Rocky River residents: $0.00 with a signed employment contract
Non-residents: $248.00
Registration deadline is September 22nd

The Indoor Pool Is Opening!

After much anticipation, we’re excited to announce that our indoor pool will open on Tuesday, September 8th at 5:30am.

As we transition indoors, please note that the outdoor pool will close on September 8th. A big thank you to everyone who made this outdoor pool season so amazing! We’ve loved seeing our community enjoying the pool all summer long.

The Linden Park playground is getting an upgrade!

The existing playground is scheduled to be removed beginning Monday, August 31st, and the playground space will remain closed until the new structure is completed. Weather permitting, construction of the new playground is expected to begin Tuesday, September 8th.

The remainder of Linden Park is expected to remain open and largely unaffected during the playground closure. However, visitors should be aware that construction equipment and vehicles may be present in and around the park throughout the project. Please use caution and avoid all designated construction areas.

We appreciate your patience while we make these exciting improvements to Linden Park!
