It's very rare that we have open spots for the first week of bear season. Due to a medical event from one of our long time group of bear hunters, Week 1 has become available!!! Hey everyone, fall is coming quick, and it won't be long we'll be back into the north woods of Maine. The 2026 moose lottery is now available online. https://www.maine.gov/ifw/hunting-trapping/hunting/species/moose/moose-permit.html Here is the link to go and apply for the moose lottery. The deadline to apply is May 18, 2026. We are very successful with high success rates with guiding moose hunts in zone 4, 8, 9 and 14. If you have any questions on filling out the application, please feel free to reach out to us anytime and we can help you with the application process

What a great time we had at the Dylan Scott concert. We would love to get Dylon to come to Rockwood bear hunting with us, on the house. This was by far the best part of the show.

As the 2025 hunting season winds down, I made a slide show from some pictures that we took this year. I want to say thank you to our cook, my wife Jonette Rood. I want to thank my niece Morgan Linnell, she helped lug bait and get the sites ready in August, while getting bit by horse flies!!! And I want to thank my guides who helped me guide our sports. Dean Milligan, Dean was our other bear guide during the bear season. I want to thank our moose guides, Hayden Stratton, Anthony Thibodeau and Jason Thibodeau. Because of you all, we had a safe, fun and successful 2025 season. 2026 is shaping up to be another great year, we only have a few spots available for next years bear bear season.

A huge congratulations to Kristen on killing her first animal ever, and what a huge zone 8 cow she killed….. weighed 504 pounds. Kristen drove up here from New York with her dad Greg. Congratulations to their guide, Hayden for putting them onto the moose.

It’s been a good week so far. My zone 8 and zone 14 hunters both shot their moose Tuesday night and both were big bulls. Congratulations Norman and Wayne on your moose!!!
