Mount Kineo Golf Course This is the official page for the Mount Kineo Golf Course! Each hole on this nine-hole course is a challenge. No 'ride-alongs' or 'walk-alongs' are permitted.

Mt Kineo Golf Course is located on Moosehead Lake and is thought to be the second oldest course in New England, built in the 1890's. The course was built along side of the Kineo House, which at one time was the largest inland waterfront hotel in America. The hotel is long since gone but the beauty of the island remains with Mount Kineo as the centerpiece, rising 798 feet above the shores of Mooseh

ead Lake to its summit. The most scenic hole is the fourth, a par 3, 138 yards over water to a green nestled at the base of Mount Kineo. Please note that tee times are required, and only golfers are allowed on the course. Each player is expected to play from their own bag of clubs; rentals are available. Our clubhouse lunch counter serves sandwiches and hot dogs from 10am-3pm spring and fall, 10am-5pm July and August. Our season is from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend.

🌟 Meet the Crew – Charlie! 🌟

If you’ve taken the shuttle to Mt. Kineo, you’ve probably met Charlie! A familiar face around Kineo, Charlie is back for his third summer after working here years ago.

Charlie grew up playing golf. He loves playing with anyone who’s up for a round and credits his dad with teaching him everything he knows about the game. But when it comes to the shuttle, that’s a different story! His grandfather taught him how to drive it at a very young age, making him a natural behind the wheel.

When he’s not at Kineo, you’ll usually find him running, boating, DJing, or enjoying the outdoors. His favorite holes at Kineo are #7 for the challenge of keeping your shot out of the lake, and #4 because the views never get old. If Charlie could play 9 holes with anyone, it’d be Tiger Woods to pick up a few new tricks.

If you’re looking for Charlie around lunchtime, you’ll probably find him enjoying one of the clubhouse girls’ famous ham, turkey, and bacon wraps with a Bloom Pop in hand.

Charlie’s favorite part of working at Mt. Kineo is the people he works with and the fun he has every day captaining the shuttle.
