SEASON OPENER — FINALISTS! ⚾️

After some time away, the Lone Star Captains were back at it this weekend — knocking off the rust and battling all the way to the championship game!

We came up just short, but there’s plenty to be proud of. The fight, energy, and teamwork were on full display, and this group showed they’re ready to get back to work.

Season is officially underway. Let’s go, Captains! 🫡

Tournament MVP. Ultimate Teammate.

Congratulations to Griffin on earning Tournament MVP honors while representing American Baseball Academy (ABA) at the DFW World Baseball Classic!

His performance throughout the tournament was outstanding:
⚾️ 7 games
⚾️ 12 plate appearances
⚾️ .889 batting average
⚾️ Dominant on the mound
⚾️ Played all 9 defensive positions in a single tournament and did it well.

Those accomplishments are impressive, but what made Griffin stand out the most was the way he competed for his teammates. He believed in everyone around him, encouraged them every step of the way, and embraced whatever role the team needed. He never made the weekend about himself - he simply showed up, worked hard, and did his part every time he took the field.

At Captains, that’s what we value most. We couldn’t be more proud to see him recognized while representing ABA on one of the biggest stages of the summer.

Congratulations, Griffin, on a well-deserved DFW World Baseball Classic Tournament MVP. Keep leading by example - we’re proud to have you wear the Captains jersey.

What a weekend! ⚾️🏆

A group of boys who had never practiced together, and several who had never even met before, came together and did something special.

🏆 Champions out of 22 teams
🔥 7-0 on the weekend
💥 69 runs scored
🛑 Only 19 runs allowed

Proof that talent is great, but buying into each other is even better. So proud of this group and everything they accomplished this weekend. What a run! 💙

🏆 HOME RUN DERBY CHAMPION 🏆

Congratulations to Preston on an incredible performance at the NCS DFW World Series Home Run Derby!

Competing against 165 contestants, Preston put on a show and claimed 1st Place in the 10U Division with 10 home runs, earning the title of DFW World Series Home Run Derby Champion. 💣⚾🫡

The big bat was on full display as he launched ball after ball and rose to the top of a stacked field. We couldn’t be more proud of the work, dedication, and confidence he brought to the derby.

Way to represent, Preston! The Captains crew is proud of you! 👏🔥💪
