The school year is over, hockey bags are getting a little break, and summer is officially here!

We hope our Freeze players spend the next few months making memories, enjoying family vacations, sleeping in a little, and having plenty of fun. Of course, we know it won't be long before players start missing the rink. Stick-and-pucks, driveway shooting sessions, roller hockey games, and summer camps are all great ways to stay connected to the game until the season returns.

For now, enjoy the sunshine! We'll be counting down the days until we're back together at the rink in August. 🏒❄️

From early morning game times to the endless loops of laundry, hockey moms are the true MVPs. You cheer us on from the bleachers, even when our aim is a little off!

We wouldn't be here without your dedication, taxi services, and, most importantly, your unwavering belief in our ability to slap that puck into the net.

So this Mother's Day, we at the Frederick Freeze want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the hockey moms! We hope you have a day filled with relaxation, maybe even a break from the hockey rink!

We’re excited to welcome Coach Josh Barron to lead one of our 16U teams for the 2026–2027 season.

A Maryland native, Josh has spent over two decades in the game, starting with the Hagerstown Bulldogs before moving through the Frederick Freeze and Team Maryland.

He wrapped up his playing career with the Frederick Freeze Junior Program, bringing valuable high-level experience that now shapes how he coaches the game.

A USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach, Josh has coached across multiple age levels (including 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U) with stops at the Frederick Freeze, Hagerstown programs, and the Washington Little Capitals. Across six seasons, he’s built a reputation for developing players who compete hard, play smart, and respect the game.

After a short break to welcome his son, Josh returns with fresh energy and perspective, ready to invest in the next group of players.

We’re excited to have Coach Barron leading our 16U squad this season. Welcome back, Coach Barron!
