Basic Skills Lesson Information:

Basic skills instruction enables students to pursue interests in figure skating, hockey, recreational, or speed skating. Each weekly session generally consists of a 25 minute lesson and a 25 minute practice. (The exception is for children ages 4-5 who are taught in a 25 minute format). Instructors are all experienced professionals or qualified amateur ice skaters.

Skates are available free of charge during lessons. Private Instruction:
Should you desire a private or semi-private lesson for any level skater, speak to the professional of your choice directly or Email the Skating Director for general guidelines. Time for lessons and costs are determined with the assistance of the professional giving the lesson. Payment for these lessons are not included in ice fees and should also be handled directly with your professional. A list of qualified professionals is available. (with my email listed or linked below)

Whether you are a recreational skater or competitor, We, at Midcoast Recreation Center, offer a warm and friendly atmosphere where you may achieve your personal goals. Midcoast Recreation Center offers a qualified staff of professionals available for private lessons. Guest professionals with a following are welcome to teach at all sessions. We hope you will join us. If you are new to our program, require assistance in schedule planning, or need help choosing a private skating coach, please email the Skating Director.

Looking for something fun to do tomorrow afternoon! Come join us on the ice with MRC’s figure skaters and SANTA! Fun for the whole family and let Santa know what’s on your list!

Skate with Santa! 🎅 ❄

THIS Saturday, at 12pm, come watch as skaters participating in MRC's Learn to Skate and Figure Skating classes show off their ice skating skills to classic holiday music!

Then join us after the show for an hour of Public Skate with Santa Claus! (This public skate begins as soon as the Skating Exhibition ends, and does not have an exact start time, but will begin close to 1pm)

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids and seniors. Children under 4 are free!
Admission fee includes both entry for the Skating Exhibition AND skate pass and rentals for the Skate with Santa!
