Congratulations are in order to Ryan Ford and Doug Gresenz! Finders of the first Rockport Treasure Hunt! If you followed the Rockport Treasure Hunt page I’ll decipher the clues. There are no geese on Goose Island State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife. The clue mentions not walking on water and trash. You don’t have to get on the new pier at the island but if you’re astute the kayak launch is right behind the trash bin by the pier. If you follow the direction in the clue it will take you to East Pocket where the treasure lay! Congrats for figuring out the clues and hope yall enjoy splitting the $100 prize. Excited for the next one. Stay tuned for details and follow the Rockport Treasure Hunt page!

ok. It’s that time. Remember the rules in the earlier posts and stay safe and have fun.

Although we’re not here it is our names sake.
Don’t walk on water this isn’t fake.
One’s man trash is another man’s treasure when you get here hope for good weather.
The wind can be brutal and the sun can be tough don’t bother looking it can be ruff.
The sun sets in the west but rises in the East if you head that way you can have a feast,
It’s not in a locket but sounds the same if you’ve made it here its the end of the game.

Good luck!

Thanks for checking in Rockport Treasure Hunts sponsored by Kraken Kayak Outfitters! The goal here is to get you and your family outside and immerse yourself in what our coasts have to offer. This is somewhat of an experiment and if all goes well will hope to have several throughout the year. Please use the page to discuss your ideas amd thoughts. Be kind and cool to everyone. I will be monitoring it frequently once the hunt begins. If some clues prove to be to hard I’ll add more clues as it goes on. They may however be to easy. Who knows again, hopefully a fun experiment, we’ll see for the next one.

Frequently asked questions?

1. Is the treasure real money or being in the wild?
Answer: Both. Money is not enough to pay off a mortgage but enough for a few nice dinners or some new swag. If more sponsors what to join in the future prizes will be larger

2. Where is the treasure?
Answer: the treasure could be located in Aransas or San Patricio county as well Mustang Island and all surrounding water except the Gulf itself. Could be on the island but not In the Gulf Waters

3. Is it in a dangerous place?
Answer: If it’s under water could be dangerous depending on wind and wave action. If you feel it is in the water and want to kayak to it always be weather aware and don’t go out until conditions are safe to do so.

4. Can kids hunt?
Answer: absolutely! We want the family together but see #3 above. You are the parent and whatever you feel is best but always err on the side of caution.

5. Could it be buried? Could it be up high, could it be in water?
Answer: Yes, but not on private property

6. What if I believe I need to get in the water but have no boat or kayak?
Answer: Let Kraken Kayak Outfitters (my side hustle) know and I’ll hook you up. If you think you need it for a couple of hours can loan you some after signing our waiver if you think you need them for a day or 2 we’ll charge a small fee. Just make sure we know it’s for the hunt so we don’t charge our normal overnight fees.

7: What exactly am I looking for and what do I do if I find it?
Answer: you will be looking for a pelican (company brand name, not the bird) dry box. In it will be a code and a phone number to call. (Kraken number). Give us the code and location of the starting point and we will meet you back at the starting point for the prize and photo op for being the first treasure finder.

We assume Zero responsibility. Be safe and have fun
