Gladiator Sprint Tour at Ohio Valley & Atomic
Southern Ohio's dedicated winged 410 sprint car series, the Gladiator Sprint Tour, will return to action this weekend with Friday night racing at Ohio Valley Speedway just south of Lubeck, West Virginia. This event will pay $2,000 to win and $250 to start the 25 lap main event. The next night, the winged warriors will join the FAST on Dirt series for an event at Atomic Speedway just south of Chillicothe. The Saturday race will pay $4,000 to win and $400 to start.
Friday at Ohio Valley, all gates will open at 4 pm. General admission is $20 with kids aged 6-10 just $5. Pit passes will be $40. We will be using the yellow Westhold transponders. Mufflers are NOT required. Raceiver radios are mandatory at all times. Wings must be flat top with maximum 2" wicker bill. Cars must be on 4 corner Hoosier Racing Tires. The right rears must be D15A, H15 or Medium and the left rears must be D12A or H12. The purse for this event will be as follows: 2000, 1000, 700, 600, 500, 400, 350, 325, 300, 280, 270, 260, 250, 250, 250, 250, 250, 250, 250, 250. B-Main non transfers will get $100.
Ohio Valley Speedway requires all pit push vehicles to carry liability insurance. The Gladiator series will have fuel and tires available. Call ahead to request specific chalk marks.
On Saturday, at Atomic Speedway, pit gates will open at 2 pm. General admission gates will open at 4. Driver meeting is set for 4:30 with hot laps at 5. Adult general admission is $20 with seniors and military veterans just $15. Pit passes are $40 with kids 6-10 years of age $20 pitside. The same wing and tire rules will apply. Mufflers are NOT mandatory. We will be using the yellow Westhold transponders. Raceiver radios are required at all times cars are under power.
The 30-lap main event purse will be as follows: 4000, 2000, 1500, 1200, 1000, 800, 700, 600, 550, 500, 480, 460, 440, 420, 410, 400, 400, 400, 400, 400. Cars starting the B main but failing to make the main event will earn $150. Tow money for cars failing to start either main is $100. Heat races will pay: 40, 30, 20, 10 thanks to help from Ti22 Performance, JLT Enterprises, All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads and Signs By Trey. $50 bonus awards from hard luck and hard charger will be provided by Helms & Sons Construction and Excavating. There will be no fees to race at Atomic and the series will have tires available at the track. Atomic Speedway will be selling methanol.
