Under perfect conditions, the Velosolutions UCI Pump Track Qualifier at The Revolution Community Park in Erie, Colorado delivered on all accounts.

With the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, the Velosolutions Revolution Pump Track produced action-packed racing on a technical layout that demanded absolute precision from riders from start to finish.

In the Elite Women category, pump track veteran Olivia Armstrong came out of semi-retirement and looked sharp from her very first lap, putting down clean and consistent runs throughout the day.

Young Colorado BMX rider Isabella Sargent did her best to match Armstrong’s pace but ultimately fell just short. Colorado native Madison Pitts finished third, highlighting the strength of the local mountain bike scene, while Velosolutions’ own Currey Nelson secured the final qualifying spot for the Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championships in Beijing, China.

In the Elite Men category, the racing was intense to say the least. Although already qualified for Beijing, last year’s bronze medallist Jesse Elzenga (NED) lined up once again, chasing the free trip on offer.

The locals did not make it easy, with Kenneth Gustafson pushing Elzenga all the way and finishing in second place. Amakye Andersen from Tucson, Arizona claimed third, while local mountain bike rider Luke Dunne snatched the final qualifying position in fourth.

The Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championships Qualifier in Aínsa delivered a full day of high-level racing, with tight margins, costly mistakes, and a Spanish crowd that stayed loud from the first timed runs through to the finals.

In the women’s race, Julie Heusequin set the pace early and never let go. A fast opening lap in timed runs put her in control, and from there, she rode with composure, making the right calls when it mattered to secure the win. Behind her, Kristina Nováková and Lena Szerling were locked in a close fight, pushing each other all the way to the podium.

The men’s competition was tight throughout, with Ángel Heras and Sergio Veiga matching each other run for run. In the big final, Heras delivered when it counted, setting the fastest time of the day and taking the win by just 0.08 seconds. Veiga was right there, also putting down his quickest lap of the event in the final.

As the pace lifted, so did the pressure. The quarter finals, in particular, saw a number of mistakes as riders pushed for every advantage. Malo Dusseau Brossard and Alex Toledo Arnedo both showed the speed to challenge but couldn’t convert it into a place in the final rounds, while small errors proved decisive elsewhere.

With over 100 riders on the start list throughout the day, the level remained high across all categories, while around 500 spectators lined the track, the Spanish crowd driving the action through the finals. Both riders know what it takes to win - and with Aínsa, they lock in their place in China.

Austria Qualifier 🇦🇹🔥

Back at a venue that knows how to deliver, host of the 2023 Pump Track World Championships set the stage for another standout day of racing.

Austria delivered a full day of tight battles, fast lines, and just enough drama to keep things interesting.

On the Men’s side, it was a proper battle between and all day. Jesse looked untouchable early on, laying down some seriously fast times through the rounds, but a mistake in the semis pushed him into the Small Final. That opened the door for Brajan, who stayed locked in from start to finish and never let the pressure drop. He sealed the win in style, setting the fastest time of the day in the final with a 12.135. kept things incredibly consistent throughout, earning his spot on the podium.

In the Women’s race, was in control all day, riding with confidence and precision and backing it up with the fastest time of the day in the final (13.821). just kept building momentum, getting quicker with every round and finishing strong. showed serious pace - one of the few riders to match and beat Christa’s times - but a mistake in the semis kept her out of the big final despite a very promising performance.
