This week’s player in focus is our oldest player and part of our Goalkeeper group at Zocker.
Ethan Aiken is a hard-working, reliable, intelligent young man, who was blessed for the GK position with incredible athleticism wrapped in a commanding physical frame. What makes Ethan unique, and an absolute pleasure to work with, is his relentless effort to recognize his areas of improvement and better himself through hours and hours of practice and hard work.
Having him in our program does not just add a tremendous goalkeeper to the program, but it also allows us to witness his development as a leader for younger players. They see first-hand how important the right values are within our sport, where sport can make better people, not just better athletes. Ethan naturally tends to extend himself as a fun role-model, and many of our younger kids gravitate to him. He's always offering a helping hand, an encouraging piece of advice, or uplifting words of motivation to players around him—little things that make him an incredible study in character.
On top of all of that, Ethan is a tremendous Goalkeeper whose abilities make him a natural born shot stopper, performing difficult power saves regularly with ease. We were excited and proud to see Ethan recently sign for LeTourneau University, in Longview Texas, to pursue his Bachelor’s degree and become a part of their soccer program. We wish him all the best for his educational and athletic future, and are very confident that he will be successful in everything he sets his mind to. @ Sacramento, California
