⛳️💗 Sassy Saturday Celebrates International Women’s Golf Day! 💗⛳️

What an incredible day on the course!

Five years ago, Sassy Saturday started with just 12 women looking to enjoy the game of golf together. Today, we welcomed over 90 women to celebrate International Women’s Golf Day, proving that when women support women, amazing things happen.

A special thank you to Viera Voice for coming out to celebrate with us and help share the growth of women’s golf in our community. Your support helps us continue highlighting the friendships, opportunities, and fun that make this group so special.

🏝️⛳ The guys have been hard at work getting our one-of-a-kind floating island green ready for tomorrow’s Sassy Saturday International Women’s Golf Day Celebration!

Our Lucky Shot Competition is back, and the island is officially in place—complete with a few curious spectators already gathering in the water. 🐢🐟👀

A huge thank you to Jim, our Course Supervisor, and the crew for bringing this fun challenge to life for nearly 90 amazing women joining us tomorrow. We can’t wait to see who lands the perfect shot onto Viera East’s floating island green!

⛳ Why Does Returning Driving Range Buckets Matter?

It may seem like a small thing, but returning range buckets helps us keep the driving range running smoothly and enjoyable for everyone.

When buckets stay on the property and are returned to the Pro Shop:

✅ We can keep the range clean, organized, and safe.
✅ We reduce replacement costs, helping us manage expenses responsibly.
✅ We ensure there are enough balls and buckets available for all golfers to enjoy.
✅ We show respect for our course, staff, and fellow golfers.

Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for every guest who visits Viera East Golf Club. A simple act like returning your bucket helps us maintain the quality and service that our golfers expect.

Didn't finish your range balls? No problem! ⛳

If you don't use all the balls from your bucket, you have two options:

✅ Save Them for Later – Stop by the Pro Shop and we'll tag your bucket so you can use the remaining balls on another visit.

✅ Take Them With You – Leave a refundable deposit on the bucket at the Pro Shop. Your deposit will be returned when the bucket and any remaining balls are brought back to the course.

⛳ Golf Etiquette #10: Take Care of the Course

One of the greatest things about Viera East Golf Club isn't just the greens, fairways, or beautiful views—it's the shared responsibility we all have in keeping this course a special place to play.

Every golfer can make a difference with a few simple actions.

🗑️ Pick Up Trash
If you see an empty bottle, scorecard, wrapper, or other litter, please take a moment to throw it away. Even if it's not yours, a cleaner course benefits everyone.

🏌️ Pick Up Your Tees
Especially broken tees. While they may seem harmless, broken tees can become hazards for maintenance equipment and wildlife. Taking a few seconds to pick them up helps keep our course looking beautiful and safe.

🐦 Respect Our Wildlife
One of the things that makes Viera East unique is the incredible wildlife that calls our course home. Throughout your round, you may encounter:

🦩 Sandhill Cranes
🦅 Osprey and other birds of prey
🦆 Ducks and waterfowl
🐢 Turtles
🐊 Small alligators in and around our lakes

Remember, we are guests in their habitat. Please observe wildlife from a safe distance and never attempt to feed, approach, or disturb them.

🦩 If You Accidentally Strike Wildlife
Golf balls don't always go where we intend. If a Sandhill Crane or other animal is accidentally struck by a golf ball, please notify the Pro Shop immediately. Our staff can assess the situation and contact the appropriate resources if assistance is needed.

🌿 Protect the Course
Repair ball marks, replace divots, rake bunkers, follow cart rules, and leave each area a little better than you found it.

The reason Viera East Golf Club is such a beautiful place to play is because golfers, staff, wildlife, and nature all share this space together.

A little effort from everyone helps preserve the course, protect the environment, and ensure future golfers can enjoy the same experience we do today.

⛳ Golf Etiquette #9: Yell "FORE!" When Needed

Of all the words you'll hear on a golf course, one of the most important is just four letters long:

FORE!

This isn't just a golf tradition—it's a safety warning that every golfer should know and use.

If your golf ball is heading toward another golfer, maintenance staff member, homeowner, or anyone who could be in danger, don't hesitate...

📢 YELL "FORE!" LOUDLY AND IMMEDIATELY!

Why is it important?

✅ Warns people to take cover or protect themselves

✅ Helps prevent serious injuries

✅ Shows concern and respect for others on the course

✅ Protects fellow golfers, staff, and spectators

✅ It's one of the most important responsibilities every golfer has

What can happen if you DON'T yell "FORE"?

A golf ball may seem small, but it can travel over 100 mph and cause significant damage.

😳 A golfer could be struck in the head, face, or body.

👓 Glasses can be shattered or knocked off.

🩹 Serious cuts, bruises, broken bones, and concussions can occur.

🚑 In rare cases, golf ball impacts can result in severe injuries requiring emergency medical attention.

The few seconds it takes to yell "FORE!" could prevent a painful injury and save someone from a trip to the emergency room.

When should you yell "FORE"?

🏌️ Anytime your ball is heading toward another person.

🏌️ If a shot takes an unexpected bounce or ricochet.

🏌️ If you lose sight of your ball and aren't sure where it is heading.

🏌️ When wind or other conditions carry your shot farther than expected.

A common mistake is waiting to see if the ball will actually hit someone.

❌ Don't wait.

📢 Yell "FORE!" as soon as you think there could be danger.

No golfer has ever been criticized for giving too much warning.

Safety first. Respect always.

⛳ Golf Etiquette #8: Let Faster Groups Play Through

Golf is meant to be enjoyable for everyone on the course. One of the best ways to keep the game moving and create a positive experience for all golfers is knowing when to let a faster group play through.

This isn't about rushing your round—it's about being aware of what's happening around you and showing courtesy to your fellow golfers.

Why is it important?

✅ Keeps the pace of play moving smoothly for everyone

✅ Reduces frustration and long waits on the course

✅ Creates a more enjoyable experience for all golfers

✅ Shows sportsmanship and respect for others

✅ Helps prevent backups that can affect multiple groups behind you

When should you let a group play through?

🏌️ If your group is consistently slower than the group behind you.

🏌️ If there is an open hole in front of your group and golfers are waiting behind you.

🏌️ If you're searching for a lost ball and another group is approaching.

🏌️ If your group is stopping frequently for lessons, extra practice shots, or extended breaks.

🏌️ If you're playing a casual round and the group behind is clearly moving faster.

A good rule of thumb:

👉 If you're holding someone up and there is space ahead of you, it's time to let them through.

How do you let a group play through?

✔️ Wait for a safe opportunity.

✔️ Move to the side of the fairway or near the next tee box.

✔️ Wave the group forward with a friendly gesture.

✔️ Allow them to hit and move ahead before resuming play.

A simple wave can save everyone time and create a better day on the course.

What if you're the faster group?

Respect goes both ways.

✔️ Be patient and courteous.

✔️ Wait until it's safe and appropriate.

✔️ If needed, politely ask: "Would you mind if we played through?"

✔️ Thank the group once they've allowed you through.

Remember, most golfers are happy to accommodate when approached respectfully.

Golf is one of the few sports where players help each other enjoy the game. A little awareness and courtesy go a long way.

Good golfers respect the game. Great golfers respect others. 💚⛳
