Look what one of Coach Kevin’s past athletes had to say about him! 🏒📣

Derby alum and cheer mom extraordinaire, Amy Hollstein ’03, credits her time in Derby Athletics with teaching her adaptability and building her confidence.

Reflecting on her experience playing on the co-ed hockey team alongside her brother Rick (who went on to play at Trinity), Amy shared:

“Playing hockey as a female in the late 90s/early 2000s was not nearly as popular as it has become. However, Coach Orcutt was one of my biggest fans during this time. He truly believed in me and gave me just as many opportunities on the ice as the rest of the boys on the team. The confidence he had in me boosted my own confidence tenfold.”

Amy went on to play four years of varsity hockey at UConn, and today, she and her husband coach their children’s hockey teams—while she also cheers on her youngest as a proud cheer mom.
