Rockford karate

Hello everyone
We are sad to say we have some sad news. Today we just learned that our teacher, mentor, friend, and founder of the Rockford Karate Club, Sensei John Allen, has passed away. He truly was one of a kind; always wanting to teach anyone who entered the Dojo. Not one time did he care about making money, the Dojo he ran was nonprofit and never took a dime for himself. He did it because he loved shotokan karate and kept that passion alive most of his life. There are not enough words to describe what an amazing person Sensei Allen was. Please Sensei, wherever you are, please know how thankful we are for everything you did for us and we will do our best to pass on what you taught.

Our leader Sensei John Allen in his younger years who was known for his dynamic kicks. And Sensei Nishiyama and Sugiyama nicknamed him “ The idea Man “. He always invented contraptions to help with the drills , to make things better for the student so he can learn better and faster. We are so fortunate to have him he always has these ideas.

Hello, just a reminder classes are now held on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Tuesday classes are 6pm-7pm for kids 6-13, adult classes are 7pm-9pm. Saturday classes are 10am-11am for kids and 11am-1pm for adults. We are no longer having classes on Mondays.

Hello everyone, starting in the first week of September, to better align with most people's work schedules, we will start having classes on Tuesday nights instead of Mondays. The times will be the same, 6pm-7pm for children 6-13, and 7pm-9pm for adults. Saturday classes will remain the same.

Hello everyone, just to let people new to the page our classes are 40 dollars a month for kids 6-13 and 50 for adults 14 and above. No contracts but there is a release waiver you need to sign.

Hello everyone
From now on we decided that if Monday class is cancelled for whatever reason, we will make up for it by having class the next day, Tuesday. To be clear though, Tuesday class will only happen if a Monday class is cancelled. It's still just Mondays and Saturdays classes are scheduled to happen so there's no class tonight because we had class yesterday. If class does get cancelled, we will post it on this page.

Hello everyone of the Rockford il. karate club, due to some technical errors, we had to create a new page. It's still in the development stage and more will be added to it but the page titled just Rockford Karate will be used for updates from now on.
