ROCKFORD, Ill. — Rock Valley College Head Bowling Coach Tony Hall has announced that the upcoming 2026-27 season will be his last leading the Golden Eagles. After building one of the most dominant junior college bowling programs in the nation, Hall will step down from his coaching duties following the conclusion of the 2026-27 academic year.

End of an Era in Rockford
Hall, who also serves as the general manager of The Cherry Bowl in Rockford, has spent more than a decade establishing Rock Valley College as a powerhouse in collegiate bowling. Since taking over the program in 2016, Hall has guided the Golden Eagles through an era of unprecedented success, leading the men's and women's programs to a combined nine NJCAA National Championships.

Most recently, Hall led the RVC men's bowling team to the 2026 NJCAA National Championship at Royal Scot in Lansing, Michigan. The title marked the program's fifth men's national championship under Hall's leadership and added another chapter to his remarkable tenure with the Golden Eagles.

A Lasting Legacy
Under Hall's leadership, Rock Valley College Bowling has become synonymous with championship-level competition. His programs have produced numerous NJCAA All-Americans and consistently competed among the nation's top junior college teams.

Hall's impact on collegiate bowling was recognized by his peers in 2025 when he received the NJCAA Coaches Legacy Award. The honor recognized his contributions to the sport, his commitment to student-athlete development, and the lasting impact he has made throughout his coaching career.

Throughout his tenure, Hall has built more than championship teams. He has created a culture and standard within the program that has made Rock Valley College a destination for student-athletes looking to compete at the highest level of junior college bowling.

One Final Season
The 2026-27 season will serve as Hall's final campaign leading the Golden Eagles. Both the men's and women's programs will once again take aim at the national stage as Hall prepares for one final season with the student-athletes and community that have been an important part of his career.

Hall's departure will mark the end of one of the most successful coaching eras in Rock Valley College Athletics history. Over the course of his tenure, his leadership helped transform RVC Bowling into a nationally recognized program and produced nine NJCAA National Championships.

Following the conclusion of the 2026-27 season, Rock Valley College will begin the process of identifying the next leader of its men's and women's bowling programs.

Our season came to an end on Sunday at the USBC Sectional in Addison. USBC Sectionals is the Top 80 teams (4 year and 2 year colleges) in the country out of 183 teams that compete. There are four sectionals around the country (Chicago, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Dallas)

We finished in 9th place which is where we were ranked for this sectional based on finishing 33rd in the USBC Collegiate final points list. Saturday we struggled finishing the morning in 16th and finished Saturday in 14th. Not how we wanted Saturday to go.

Sunday we came out and it was a new day and we had 3 good sets in a row, then struggled for 3 games in the last set but finished with a 246 to move up to 9th place and we were 6th for the morning. Sunday afternoon we continued where we left off in the morning and bowled well all the way until the end to finish in 9th place. Just Sunday scores we were in 6th place for the day.

Extremely proud of this group, as trying to compete against these top 4 year colleges and having 2 Sophomores and 6 Freshman is a tall task, but we had a great season and will be back better than ever next year and maybe next year will be the year that we make it to ITC.

Thank you to everyone for your support through out the year and be on the look out for our golf outing info - Friday June 26th - 1 pm at Swan Hills.
