So. I feel the need to clarify a few points.
1. The way Wyomings concealed carry requisites are written, you only need proof of fi****ms training to apply for a concealed carry permit. So, that means if you have a hunters safety certificate, a NRA basic pistol certificate or another fi****ms training certificate, that's all you need to apply.
2. I don't give certificates for the basic pistol class, lowlight, force on force. The only class I give a certificate for, is concealed carry. Simply because my concealed carry class has a qualifying shooting test. In order to get the certificate, you must pass.
3. Simply attending the concealed carry class does not mean you get the certificate, you must pass the qualifying shoot
If you fail, no biggie, keep training and practicing and get a time arranged to test again.
Now, why do I do this?
It's very simple. If you are going to carry to defend yourself, in my opinion, you need a solid base and grasp of defensive shooting skills. After all, it's your life, and the lives of those around you on the line.
You wouldn't want a 16 year old with a learners permit to jump behind the wheel of a big rig and make a 7 day run cross country would you? Of course not.
And it's my name attached to the certificate. And I don't want to churn out shooters. I want to put out confident, well reasoned, skilled assets. People who will have the skill and belief they are prepared.
Confidence Forged Thru Discipline
I hope this clarifys things.
See you on the range.
