Tonight was a much better race for us. Started a bit iffy when Alek went out for hot laps and started having handling issues with the car. With Alek Starting on the pole of his heat there was no time for adjustments so he went out and drove the ill handling car to the best of his ability. He ended up going from 1st to 4th. We made some adjustments to the car anticipating a very slick track for the main event and fixing some issues from the heat race. Alek started 13th for the main and after falling back to 16th at one point in the race he drove the car back up to 9th. Overall our Saturday night race was fun and a great success with no damage to the car to be found.

Not the night we were hoping for. For the heat race Alek started 3rd and finished 4th which had him starting 3rd in a B main. We made a few adjustments for the B main and got to the lead almost immediately but fell back to second a few laps in. He tried to chase after the leader but a broken brake line in turns 3 and 4 upset the handling of the car which made him push up the race track. With no brake to stop him he ended up hitting the Back end of the car on the wall putting an end to his night before it had a chance to begin. We already have the body on the car fixed and we should be able to borrow a brake line off the backup car. We'll get everything back together and give it another try tomorrow night.

Aleks grandma made him a very cool quilt with all kinds of racing memories on it.

Richard may be stepping away from racing for a while but his car will not be. Alek intends to take advantage of the empty seat and use the older car for when he races diamond mountain speedway and also keep it around as a backup just in case something major happens with his primary car at sweetwater speedway. But first it needs a transmission. We'll be racing at sweetwater speedway next weekend May 22nd and 23rd. Come cheer us on. 🏁🏁

Alek finished 5th in his heat race. The car was a bit on the free side. Unfortunately the engine developed a leak on the valve cover gasket starting the main event so he pulled off the track.
We will get it fixed up and ready for Sweetwater speedway in two weeks.
