The 2026 USA National Masters Throws Championships are complete! A great weekend in Rock Island, the Augustana Team led by Throws Coach Nick Swoger did an outstanding job. Attached are a couple summaries. The full results are posted to the usatfmasters website.

Carol Finsrud Lifetime Achievement as a Masters Thrower
Criteria:
t is presented each year to an outstanding American Masters thrower who:
1. Exhibits consistent excellence in performance (world and American records and championships), not just in the year in which the award is presented but over time;
2. Consistently encourages and assists fellow competitors;
3. Sets a standard both in throwing and in sportsmanship that others seek to emulate.

Ken Wienbel Award for Contributions to the Throwing Community Criteria:
It is presented each year to an American masters thrower/administrator who
1. Has made exemplary contributions to the masters throwing community over a period of years
2. Has a strong record of accomplishment both as a thrower and as a meet organizer and administrator

We have a travel grant that is anonymously funded for the Throws Champs. Check out the info below and apply to Twilight Throwers as detailed in the picture.

This honors Mary Roman, a great thrower and friend that passed away several years ago.

Do you know of a venue anywhere in the country that can handle all 5 throws at one time (i.e.: No overlapping sectors for discus, hammer and Javelin, area for an ultras square and another ring with a cage to use for weight). If you do, DM me with contact info and location and we will reach out to them!

Really trying to move to west coast or east coast for 2027!

We are in Rock Island at the Quad Cities Senior Games. Competed in the throws pent today and the individual throws tomorrow. Thought you might like to see the venue! Same area we will use for the Throws Champs!
