Hello Hellyer Velodrome Friends!
This Sunday you're invited to attend an intro session to our upcoming Sunday Training Sessions for June and July.
These will be structured training sessions for anyone wanting to prepare for US Nationals (or get in a great, high-end workout). Saturday Beginner Session experience is required. Jrs aged 15+ are also invited to attend at no cost.
This Sunday will be a shorter session, with emphasis on Bike Fit recommendations, Q&A about the Hellyer Elite Nationals Training Program and Team, and discussion of equipment needs for US Nationals.
These Sunday sessions will have a set structure:
a) Group warmup;
b) Endurance Intervals (opt-in intensity and recovery; 1-10 lap efforts);
c) Speed Intervals (technique and intensity training);
d) Team Event Intervals (technique and intensity training)
e) Group Cool-Down
There will be more information out soon about the Hellyer Elite National Championship Training Program (was our Women's Hellyer Team Pursuit Program; then became our Hellyer Team Pursuit Program; and now, we've expanded to all events).
As in year's past, riders selected for the Hellyer Elite National Team will receive Team clothing, race entry fee for event using Team Clothing, and travel stipend support (stipend dependent upon fundraising available).
No team affiliation is needed, no fees other than standard NCVA $5 session fee (and please pay your parking fees to support the Park).
Selection criteria for the Hellyer Elite National Training Program Team will be uploaded soon to: http://www.ridethetrack.com/training/elite-national-championship-program/
