The Rhino Philosophy

The rewards that come from the sport of wrestling go far past the winning of medals. Wrestling is the vehicle that drives us to out work everyone around us. Training at Rhino you will notice quickly that the wins that come on the wrestling mat are nothing more than the benchmark of the amount of work, sacrifice and dedication that you have put in. We have developed a sound method for improving an athlete's over all experience and relationship with the sport that can be applied to every aspect of the student's life. Starting from humble beginnings, Rhino Wrestling Club has become one of the premiere wrestling clubs in the state of New Jersey. Now, the same formula and philosophy has made its way down to Rock Hill, South Carolina. Rhino Wrestling has evolved into three clubs all working together towards one goal. One thing that sets us apart from other clubs is that the coaches from all three sites are constantly in touch with each other to improve their wrestlers, regardless of where their "home club" is. We also take advantage of technology and have weekly joint practices via the web. These are interactive technique sessions that feature the Rhino staff and world class guest coaches and clinicians. Our staff is not affiliated with any school- we are committed to improving every wrestler who walks through our doors, regardless of what school they go to.

I had a HS wrestler/club member stop by to talk and reminisce today at the club while I was cleaning and clearing some stuff out- it made me think of this. A lot of great memories were made, along with a special bond that will never be broken.

I am Wrestling! Do not weep for me!!
Weep for those who will never experience me.
Weep for those who will never feel the exhausting pain of my training,
Weep for those who will never sense the bond of Camaraderie that once established, will never wane or die.
Weep for those who will never comprehend the demands of my discipline
And most of all, Weep for those poor souls who will never miss me, because they never knew me.

I am Wrestling! Do not weep for me!!
I have been experienced in virtually every culture and civilization known to mankind.
I have been contested in over 150 documented forms in written history.
There is no Nation on this planet that throughout all time, has not experienced me.

I am Wrestling! Do not weep for me!!
Look to those seated around you and think of the qualities that make them what they are:
Accountability, responsibility, persistence, fortitude, strength, compassion, work ethic, ingenuity, determination, integrity, honesty, focus, diligence, and resolve.
Wrestling is not the only place they could acquire these, but By God they all reside here!! And if you live with me long enough these will become you.

I am Wrestling! Do not weep for me!!
No political agenda or political interpretation can ever destroy me. My merit and my worth is no threat to any cause, but rather through my values, I am a model for others.

I am Wrestling! Do not weep for me!!
Celebrate what I am, celebrate what I have been, celebrate what I represent, and celebrate the many ways I have impacted your life. I will survive this test as I have survived others, I am forever etched into the very fiber of all mankind.
The world needs me. Time is on my side. History guarantees me!
