With last year now in rear-view we want to recognize some of the season's successes, celebrate our collective accomplishments, and acknowledge widespread achievements.
In our ongoing effort to develop the fairways and enhance the player experience, we introduced new tees to the layouts: 8A and 15B, respectively. More recently, visitors likely noticed the upgraded benches across all routes (A, B, and C). These additions offer more ways to enjoy Salmon Falls, providing improved places to rest and reset between holes.
If you were one of the players who had one of nearly 500 discs returned since January, you’ve seen the improvements to our Lost & Found system. Many discs have yet to be reunited with their owners; the full list of found plastic is linked on our website. Players can search the system for their identifying marks (name, number, etc.) and follow the protocol to pick up secured items. Note: Secured items are held for a limited time. Eventually, "past due" discs will be considered abandoned and either donated or sold as used inventory. Be sure to follow our associated social media pages for announcements regarding potential sale dates.
While the event schedule shrunk slightly, the course successfully hosted its first PDGA-sanctioned A-Tier event, the Rally of Rochester, thanks to the expert TD skills of Joel Dewhurst and Andrew Leahy and the incredible fundraising efforts of many. The three-day competition concluded with Sam Henderson and Rose Shertick taking the Pro Division titles, while Jeffrey Miles and Braun topped the Amateur fields.
Once again our Summer Sessions League provided core operational support with sixty registrants. The increase in weekly attendance proves the Salmon Falls "squad" is still growing, maintaining a healthy balance of competitiveness and camaraderie.
Ironman Award: This year’s honor goes to Wes Chalifoux , who exemplified the spirit of the course by recording the most rounds while always keeping the vibe casual.
According to UDisc, Adam Peschel would have been the points leader based on those criteria. Furthermore, if the app tracked "Most Improved Player," the award would likely go to Kevin Devlin for making the most significant gains in his game this year.
Congratulations to all of you on your accomplishments, and thank you for your continued contributions to our course and community.
Lastly, a belated shout-out to everyone who played in the Finale—our final formal mini-tournament to test all tags and determine who reigns supreme (complete with all the pageantry and parking privileges!). After a round from the A-tees and another from the B-tees, Joe Bussiere outplayed a field of highly skilled golfers to take home the #1 tag. Well earned, Joe!
Thank you ALL for being part of another great season. 2025 was a productive year for Salmon Falls DGC, and we expect even more in 2026!
