Played in the final stop of the 25/26 season of Mike Zuglan's Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour at Snookers RI this weekend.
Met Todd Martin again. Todd was ranked #4 in world tennis in his career. Great competitor and pool player. He beat me last time I was down. I was hoping for a rematch but we didn't meet. Really cool guy. Also met up with Pro Bowler Tim Cornelio again, we had a nice ice cream that we split. Tim has been very helpful givng me a lot of mental advice. Referred me to the book Illusions by Richard Bach which is a very good book.
Played a really good tournament, but made a few errors early in matches that made it tough to comeback.
Won my first two, and then played Ron Casanzio (6 out of 7 of us were in the same bracket leg from buffalo and rochester lol)
I was down 6-1, told myself to win a few game and break and run some and put a package on him and I was able to do just that. Won the next one, 2-6, then broke and ran 2, 4-6. Got to 5-6, then 5-7, then tied it up hill hill. We had a safety battle, and ronnie hooked me. I played the kick beautifully got separation, and 2" short from being a dead hook. Ronnie made the long pot and ran out for the win. Retained my claw machine champion status and snagged this dragon for Laura Mugno on the way home. It was a great weekend.
Won the next 2 convincingly, and then made it to Sunday vs snookers legend Ray Macnamara. Again I made a few errors early and got down 1-4. Battle back to 4-4, and I win the safety battle and have a long 4 ball that I have to slow roll. Slight overcut and lost 4-7 from there. Definitely playing very strong, but cant be making early unforced errors.
Tied 9/12th.
