Hello all! Bill’s granddaughter here. Here is a statement on behalf of the new owners of the Gate Ranch:

Friends of the family are honored to have purchased the Gate Ranch from the Dunson Family.

We are sad to say we will not be able to maintain the golf course, but plan to keep the spirit of Bill and Jim alive by maintaining the name of the property as “The Gate Ranch” and memorializing them throughout the landscape.

The golf course is permanently closed as of the first of February 2021. Thank you all for your love and support of Bill and Jim throughout the years. We know it meant the world to them. God Bless.

Today marks 3 years since Jim passed. In memory of Jim and Bill, please share your favorite picture of either brother or both (and story if you have one) here. These two men were a blessing to everyone who knew them. A great big thank you to everyone that supported the golf course through the years!

Great weekend to put in a lil work. A bit of rain, fellowship, dancing fawns, and a visit from the mountain. I couldn’t do this without the amazing support of family! Thank you Rain, Kyren, Warrick, Olivia, and Maclain! Thank you for bringing out your tractor David! Alana came out both days and put a lot of work in! Pop Swanson even made an appearance! What a blessing to have people help! From all of Bill and Jim’s kids we thank the community for the positive vibes and help. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to pitch in and lend a hand! Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and remember... Life is a garden... dig it!

Spent a good amount of time today trying to get the course back in order. Thank you to Mills diner for the full belly, Power shop for the extra keys, Chris Pleasant for the tutorial, Mike Neely, Kyren Hack, Maclain Hack for the Hard work! This was Jim and Bills labor of love. Even in their 70’s, and 90’s they sure made this look easy! Asking for help is not a strong Dunson trait. If anyone would like to lend a hand next weekend, it would be welcomed.

It is with a heavy heart that we tell you that Bill Dunson passed away yesterday. As you all know, he was a very, very special person. The course will remain closed during this time as our family tries to figure out how to live with this giant hole in our hearts. We are grateful for your patience and privacy. We will keep you updated on when we will re-open the course.
