Parting from Impact Interactive – a message from co-founder and co-director, Allison Roberts.
After some soul searching, several nights of tossing and turning, and many conversations with my husband, and with my friend and business partner Jodi Beckwith, I’ve decided to step down as a partner from Impact Interactive.
Jodi and I both agree that since I will no longer be living in the Roc, a long-distance partnership simply doesn’t fit with our goals. I’ve loved being a part of Impact for the past 8 years. Our work around issues related to equity and inclusion is so immensely important to me. My journey with Jodi, and our talented, smart, and awesome ensemble members and co-facilitators, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I also couldn’t have asked for a more loving, brilliant, creative, and outstanding business partner than Jodi. I’m a lucky woman.
Though I’m stepping down as a partner, I’m not done with this important work. I’ll continue to co-direct the projects I’m currently working on and may still be involved in Impact on a contractual basis. I will also continue to educate myself, speak up, push myself out of my comfort zone, try hard to be an ally, and use whatever agency I may have to try and create a more inclusive community – no matter where I live.
Thank you so much to everyone in Impact for being so awesome! I will miss everyone so much.
