🥋🇺🇸 September 4, 2026 is officially Taekwondo Day in New York State! 🎉

Earlier this year, led Taekwondo Month in NYS, with dojangs across the state coming together to give back through community self-defense classes.

Because of that effort, and with the leadership of Assemblyman Josh Jensen, a resolution was passed officially recognizing September 4 as Taekwondo Day in New York State!

September 4 has always been special to Taekwondo students as we celebrate the day Taekwondo was named an official Olympic sport.

Now, it’s officially recognized in New York because of the hard work of our entire Taekwondo community!

🥋 LEARNING FROM THE BEST! 🌎

This weekend, Master Andrea DeWilde and Master Jeff DeWilde represented at the World Taekwondo Academy (WTA 세계태권도연수원) International Master Instructor Certification Course — spending 40 hours learning, training, and growing alongside some of the best Taekwondo Masters and Grandmasters in the world!

The WTA is the educational branch of World Taekwondo Headquarters (국기원 Kukkiwon), dedicated to educating and developing Taekwondo masters and students around the world. This course is the only way to be officially recognized as a Kukkiwon Master.

The course covered it all — Poomsae, self-defense, demonstration, sparring combinations, teaching methodology and more, all taught by top-level Grandmasters with decades of experience. 💪🔥

Master Andrea DeWilde applied for her 3rd Class International Master certification, while Master Jeff is moving up to 2nd Class International Master.

We’re now waiting for the official test results, but both Masters are confident they successfully completed the requirements! 🤞🥋

We are proud to see our instructors continuing to learn, train, and push themselves so they can bring even more knowledge and experience back to our students.

We love to visit our local schools and also have programs for the preschool age children at Doodle Bugs Children's Learning Academy and the college students at Rochester Institute of Technology. GM Kim also teaches the upcoming entrepreneurs at Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship

VOLUNTEERS MEETING – TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 29th
Each year we look for volunteers to help our Tournament Committee and are always looking for new people.
We would love to have adult students and/or parents join our team. Meeting is mandatory for all volunteers.
Volunteers must be 15+ years old. Volunteers will receive Staff T-shirts and assignments during the meeting.
*Time & Place: 7:45pm - 8:30pm at the Penfield
