You gotta join this number, you gotta do it in a hurry! “Around Here” is from the musical 9-5, based on Dolly Parton’s movie 9-5. It’s a fun and fast paced number that takes place in an office, complete with some lingo from the 80’s! While we chose this number last semester, we want to perform this number as a tribute in honor of Dolly Parton. This song will have 2 main solos as well as an additional character with lines. Since this an open number, you don’t need to worry about auditioning for ensemble, just show up and we’ll show you around here! 💛✨

Excited to conform to social norms in Oz? Wonderful! The “Emerald City Sequence” is from the movie: The Wiz, and takes place when Dorothy and her friends enter the Emerald City. This song acts as an opportunity for the ensemble to show off flashy outfits in a flowy and sultry jazz number. This number is dance heavy, including 1-2 small vocal solos, but will also include many walking and posing moments! We hope to see you not only in Oz, but also in GREEN.

Wish there is a second pride celebration within one year? We got you! Keep It Gay is a colorful high energy song originally written as a comedy using exaggerated gay stereotypes. However, we took it, made some changes, and turned it into a celebration of pride and diversity.
The vision will be bringing the Pride Parade on to the big stage! We encourage anyone who has any interest in performance or has a unique style to join in this colorful party where you can and encouraged to be over the top and as confident as you can bring!!!

Get ready to strut, serve, and absolutely own the stage. 👢✨ Raise You Up / Just Be is the big, feel-good finale that’s all about confidence, individuality, and letting yourself be unapologetically YOU.

Expect high-energy choreography, big group moments, synchronized movement, character moments, and A LOT of personality. We’ll take inspiration from the original production, but the goal is to make it our own and have an absolute blast doing it.

And yes — the boots are a very important part of the experience. 👠

“Ya Got Trouble” is a classic musical theatre number from one of the most loved musicals from the last century, The Music Man! The Music Man is a fun and witty musical with a lot of exciting dancing and singing that still maintains an old timey feel, and “Ya Got Trouble” is a perfect example of the type of clever wordplay and fun (but not difficult) choreography from the show! We encourage everyone to apply for this number, as it’s a very easy to learn and still very upbeat!

On Saturday OBOC performed Super Trouper at Celebrate Rochester! We hope everyone there enjoyed it and we’re so excited to hopefully welcome some of you to our club this semester!
