Last weekend, on April 11, 2026, our Wildcats traveled to Riverside, CA to compete against other Deaf schools from across the country. We brought five student-athletes to participate in the Berg and Seeger Classic.

It was a valuable experience for all of us, and we are looking forward to a great 2026 season.

Thank you to the California School for the Deaf, Riverside for hosting the Berg and Seeger Classic.

We have additional National Deaf Interscholastic Athletic Association (NDIAA) recognition to share: Ley Stuhlberg was selected as a Second Team All-American. In addition, three RSD athletes earned Honorable Mention: Brooklyn Christensen, Derrick Sickler, and Gary Youngblood.

We are proud to be recognized by the National Deaf Interscholastic Athletic Association for an incredible season. Our Girls Varsity Basketball team earned the title of NDIAA Division II National Champions.

We are also honored to celebrate individual achievements, as Evangeline Fisher-Palmer was named Player of the Year, and Charles Palmer was recognized as Coach of the Year.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Rochester Wildcats community for their continued support, pride, and commitment to our program.

This recognition means a great deal to us, and we are truly grateful to NDIAA for organizing and supporting such a meaningful and competitive experience for our student-athletes.

We look forward to building on this success and continuing the tradition of excellence in the seasons ahead.

The Rochester School for the Deaf is sending four outstanding student-athletes — Brooklyn Christensen, Ley Stuhlberg, Derrick Sickler, and Gary Youngblood — to Gallaudet University to compete in the National Deaf Schools Pickleball Tournament! 🇺🇸🏓

They will be competing against talented players from Deaf schools across the United States, representing the Wildcats with pride, determination, and competitive spirit. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase their skills on a national stage and connect with the Deaf sports community from all over the country.

A special thank you to our coaches, Scott Lipitz and Carah Best, for dedicating their time and effort to prepare and support our student-athletes for this national competition. 👏

Chad Evringham will be our new Head Coach for the Middle School Coed Volleyball team. The Rochester School for the Deaf will have two volleyball teams this spring season, and Chad will lead one of them as Head Coach.

Congratulations to Chad on his new role! He brings 15 years of coaching experience, working with students in soccer and basketball, and now he will be adding volleyball to his coaching journey. His dedication, leadership, and experience with young athletes will be a tremendous asset to our program.

We look forward to seeing him work with our middle school students and continue building a strong and positive athletic experience at the Rochester School for the Deaf.

Rose Crisman will serve as the Head Coach for the Rochester School for the Deaf Track and Field team.

Congratulations to Rose Crisman on being named our new Head Coach for the 2026 season! Rose brings valuable experience to the program, having previously competed in track and field as an athlete. Her firsthand knowledge of the sport, along with her passion and dedication, will be a tremendous asset to our student-athletes.

We are excited for the future of our track and field program under her leadership and look forward to a successful 2026 season!

The Wildcats Girls Basketball Team traveled to the American School for the Deaf to compete in the Eastern Schools for the Deaf Athletic Association (ESDAA) Division 1 Tournament, which featured eight top teams.

The Wildcats rose to the occasion and delivered a championship performance, defeating the American School for the Deaf 62–38 in the title game to capture the ESDAA Division 1 crown.

Key performances included:

- Kalena Sickler, who scored 5 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
- Ley Stuhlberg, who dominated inside with 13 points and 17 rebounds.
- Brooklyn Christensen, who pushed the tempo and scored 16 points in transition.
- Evangeline Fisher-Palmer, who filled the stat sheet with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists.

From start to finish, the Wildcats demonstrated teamwork, energy, and composure on the biggest stage. It was a strong statement performance and a tremendous way to wrap up the season.

Congratulations to all the girls; this championship was well earned!

🎓🏀 Senior Night at Rochester School for the Deaf 🏀🎓

Tomorrow is more than just another game night, it’s a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the journey. At Rochester School for the Deaf, we honor our seniors who have given their time, energy, and heart to our basketball program.

🕓 4:00 PM – Varsity Boys Senior Night
🕠 5:30 PM – Varsity Girls Senior Night

As the season nears its end and we prepare for the Eastern Schools for the Deaf Athletic Association (ESDAA) Girls Basketball Tournament on February 13–15 at the American School for the Deaf, we are reminded how quickly these moments pass.

The Eastern Schools for the Deaf Athletic Association Division I Basketball Tournament is underway, and we’re excited for our first game against Lexington School for the Deaf at 3:30 PM.
