Words to think about……
In Budo, technique may earn respect, but character earns trust.
True character is revealed not by what we say, but by what we do when no one is watching and when difficult choices must be made.
Titles, ranks, and affiliations may change with time. However, character, loyalty, and integrity reveal who we truly are.
As Sosai Mas Oyama taught, the ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants.
This principle applies not only to students, but especially to those entrusted with rank and leadership. Students learn far more than technique—they learn from the example set before them.
Higher rank should reflect higher standards.
And I suspect that if Sosai could speak to us today, he would remind us that belts do not make character—character gives meaning to the belt.
Osu!
