Program Standards, Expectations, and Goals
I. Standards — Who We Are
Our standards define the character and integrity of our program. We honor God through our effort, attitude, and unity. We represent something bigger than ourselves every time we wear the RCU logo.
2. No e
xcuses. Every member—Varsity, JV, manager, or coach—contributes to the culture.
3. Respect the Game. We respect our teammates, opponents, officials, facilities, and the sport itself. Every ball we throw is a reflection of our preparation and our values.
4. Effort is our Identity. We outwork, out-focus, and out-grind. Talent may win moments; effort wins seasons.
5. Accountability Above Comfort. We own mistakes, correct quickly, and never point fingers. Growth requires honesty and humility. II. Expectations — How We Operate
Expectations are the daily behaviors that keep the standard alive.
1. Be Coachable. Listen. Learn. Apply. Don’t argue feedback—absorb it.
2. Be Present. When we’re at practice or competition, phones are away and focus is on the task. No spectators in our own journey.
3. Communicate. Speak up respectfully. Silence breeds assumption. Be vocal in support, honest in issues, and proactive in questions.
4. Compete with Composure. Control emotion, channel energy. Passion is strength only when disciplined.
5. Take Care of Academics. Eligibility isn’t optional. Excellence in the classroom mirrors excellence on the lanes.
6. Look the Part. Uniforms sharp, demeanor professional. We carry ourselves as representatives of RCU and Christian athletics.
7. Be a Good Teammate. Encourage. Celebrate. Contribute. When you’re not throwing, you’re cheering. When you’re not scoring, you’re supporting. III. Goals — What We Pursue
We define success through progress, performance, and purpose.
1. Competitive Goals
Win the WHAC Championship. Earn multiple NAIA National bids annually. Consistently finish Top 5 in every Tier 1 event. Average team Baker score above 190 and Team Game average above 185.
2. Development Goals
Improve each athlete’s physical and mental game every semester. Achieve a team GPA of 3.2 or higher. Create measurable growth in lane play IQ, spare conversions, and team communication.
3. Cultural Goals
Maintain 100% accountability attendance. Build a program reputation of class, composure, and competitiveness. Make RCU Bowling a destination for athletes who want excellence and purpose. Closing Statement
We don’t chase perfection—we pursue excellence with discipline, unity, and faith. Every frame is earned. Every result is owned. Every moment is an opportunity to honor our mission:
“ONE TEAM. ONE HEART. ONE MISSION.”
