Hoop House Athletics LLC Hoop House Athletics LLC is designed to engage, train & mentor youth in the game of basketball. Coach Charles was born and raised in Metro Detroit.

Hoop House Athletics LLC was officially founded in 2022, however, the vision and passion behind it began in the heart of a 6-year old boy shooting baskets into a peach bushel basket in his grandmother's driveway in 1979. He has loved and played the game of basketball for over 40 years, playing consistently throughout junior high and high school. His skills led him to receive an Honorable Mention f

or Mr. Basketball his senior year. His training and development as a 4-year varsity player led him to many college opportunities. Coach Charles has been training, mentoring and coaching Metro Detroit youth for over 20 years. He has a passion to see youth succeed both on and off the courts. "Basketball is a metaphor for life", he says, believing that the work done on the court can help youth excel in the day to day challenges, helping them grow in character and integrity. Today, as a father of two young athletes, his passion and love for the game is evident in the way he mentors, teaches and trains the next generation of players, assisting them in achieving their goals and furthering the love of this incredible game.

We will be hosting tryouts for our AAU FALL PREP SEASON on Wednesday, AUGUST 19th! Our fall season will run from September through November. Tryouts will be held at Eagle Creek Academy in Oakland Township. $10 tryout fee will be collected at tryout.

Boys 5/6th grade ~ 6:30pm
Boys 7/8th grade ~ 6:30pm
Boys JV ~ 7:30pm

ADVANCING OUR SKILLS IN 2026!

LET’S COMMIT TO WORKING ON THE FUNDAMENTALS AND BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION!

Our next set of Skills Development and Shooting Clinics is coming up on SUNDAY, AUGUST 16th, at 3pm and 4pm held at Eagle Creek Academy in Oakland Township.

Skills Development is ideal for the developing player that needs to strengthen the fundamentals! These are skills that every player needs to master, and we never stop working on them ~ even as seasoned athletes! Ball handling, dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork and basic offensive maneuvers.
Shooting Clinic is one hour solidly devoted to the mechanics of shooting! Footwork, hand placement and breaking down the mechanics of the shot. It’s incredible to watch our player’s improve within the hour!

Each clinic is just $25 per player ~ and registration is open! Space is limited, so register early to secure your spot!

Players, this is your opportunity to take your skills to the next level with one of Metro Detroit's premier player development programs, rooted in teaching/training the fundamentals, building and supporting a strong basketball foundation, helping to prepare you for your upcoming school seasons.
