“As for those who struggle in Our cause, We will surely guide them along Our Way. And Allah is certainly with the good-doers.” (29:69)
When fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov extended his finger to the air after his fights in recognition of his faith, Muslim audiences across the world witnessed an inspiring display of trust in God in one of the world’s toughest sports.
The Usool of Manhood & Martial Arts (UMMA) is guided by the philosophy that expression of the physical body is an essential part of progressing in one’s character and coping with life’s challenges. In particular, martial arts is arguably the most unique of those expressions, as it requires the physical struggle of bravery and discipline in a combat scenario.
With a live sparring element, supplemented with reminders on character-building, UMMA provides courses in Mixed Martial Arts and other future fitness-based programs to uplift young men to become better Muslims. UMMA is focused on equipping brothers with the courage to excel physically, bolstering their confidence to overcome other challenges in their lives.
We ask for your duas and support as we work to make UMMA a source of help to anyone who seeks it.
