Hello all. To let you know we are starting this year at both clubs in April. Same start times as always, 10am. I have a classifier to start shooting this year. Still need to figure out splits for divisions. Will have the schedules posted soon.

Hey folks I know the match schedule for Boone November match says “maybe” we are planning on having a match next Saturday. Come shoot with us at one of the nicest ranges in the area. Always a good group with a challenging match.

In honor of our countries 249th birthday Saturday July 5 is our annual picnic match at the Wilks range. Come shot a fun match and stay for hamburgers and hotdogs after. The club supplies the burgers, dogs and fixings. Shooters please bring the other things according to your last name:

Ok folks, due to the terrible weather forecast for Saturday in Boone we will be canceling the match. 100% chance of thunder storms just isn’t a good day to be shooting. See you all in July at both Wilks and Boone.

Hey all.... Next Saturday, June 7th, is the date for the match in Wilks. Remember that it will be the "On the Sixes" match where everyone is a "revolver." Come have fun with us as we all try to remember what it is like to make two, or three, or four reloads a stage. This is an annual match that came from the minds of Riz and our good friend Berry Williams.
Remember if you are loading mags the night before that everyone is a revolver, six rounds in every mag.

Hey folks don’t forget that May 3rd is the annual Shirts Match at the Wilksboro range.

Then on May 10th we will have the first 2-gun match of the year at the Watauga Gun Club range in Boone.

Come out and shoot with us. Registration opens around 9am, shooters brief is at 10am.

If you are shooting a pistol only come out to the 2-gun match, you will be able to shoot the match.

Check the southerndefensivepistolleague.com web site for match schedules, updates on the July picnic match in Wilks, match results and the updated rules book. The 2-gun addendum has been added to the rules so it is quick to find.

The weather forecast for the match at WGC yesterday was accurate. The day began with cold temperatures, reminiscent of winter, accompanied by clouds and wind. By stage 3, the clouds had partially cleared, and for the remainder of the day, participants contended with strong winds that threatened to topple walls, targets, and other objects. Despite the challenging conditions, 11 shooters attended the match, which required 130 rounds to complete. The scores have been posted on the southerndefensivepistolleague.com website. The next match is scheduled for May 3rd in Wilks, followed by another match on May 10th at WGC. Setup for both events will commence on Fridays at 1pm, and assistance is always appreciated; please notify me if you are interested in helping.

We are having a match at the Watauga Gun Club tomorrow. Weather is calling for chilly but with sun breaking out. 7 stages, 100+ rounds. Registration starts around 9. Cost is $15 for WGC club members and $20 for none members.
