This was earlier today in Franklin County on property owned by one of our TFT members. This was a controlled burn with the VA Forestry Dept.
We hope to make one of these burns available for training purposes to a limited numbers of the hunting public in the near future.

This seems to happen more and more often. This was a prime turkey hunting area. A short distance around the ridge was a roost area where we could almost always count on a gobbler sounding off.
It’s either this or a new house being built where you turkey hunted. Anyone else running into this?

Tomorrow in Lexington, VA, we will be joining others from across the Commenwealth in a workshop lead by Michael Dye, VA’s grouse and turkey biologist . The main topic will be the fall turkey season. Specifically recommendations and comments on the fall turkey season. If you would like to have some input please submit your comments.
