I had an unexpected visitor at the gym yesterday. I was training a lady and I saw James Miller pull up in my parking lot. I have not seen him for roughly 15 years or so. It was such a great surprise to see him after all these years. He use to own a very cool gym in Roanoke in the 90's. Health Nuts was a small gym very similar to mine and it was one of the first key code 24 hr gyms around. He got out of the gym buisness and moved to Charlotte and before I opened my gym I consulted with him on some pointers on how to do it. This is the first time he has seen my gym. I actually have a couple pieces of equipment that I bought from him when he closed down. It was fun catching up for a few minutes. He was in town doing some work on a property that he owns which explains the paint on his shirt. Haha

This is so True for lot of us! Coming through the Door is the hardest part but once you are here and get going you feel great and you have a sense of accomplishment.You have to make your goals happen.

Today we celebrate our 19th year in the gym buisness. Hard to believe its been almost two decades when I took the chance to be Roanokes only small gym with 24 hour access. Only 3 gyms have been in Roanoke longer than us. The YMCA downtown Roanoke., The Roanoke Athletic Club and The Lancer Lot which is actually in Vinton.
Yes, I have been here longer than Golds Gym, Crunch, Planet Fitness, Green Ridge Rec Center, Anytime Fitness Etc..So I guess Im proof that not everybody wants to just be another number or member at a large corporate gym . If you are looking for a gym that is less crowded and has more of a private feel then give us a call or stop by for a visit.

Looking for a gym where you are more than just another number or member? We currently have memberships available and our atmosphere is like no other gym around. We are a true 24 hour access gym 7 days a week 365 days a year. We have a 300 member cap on memberships. No other gym in our area offers this.

I have to take a minute and brag about one of my training clients. This is Kristine and she has been training with me for almost 8 weeks. She started her weight loss journey in January and reached out to me for some guidance with resistance training. She was very consistent with her training coming 3 days a week and following her diet plan and Cardio to a Tee. She is down a total of 47 lbs since January. With my guidance she has lost 20.6 lbs and gained 2.6 lbs of muscle. She lost 6.9% bodyfat. She also lost 9.3 lbs of fat from mid section. Visceral fat percentage went from 25 to 20% . Since February her bodyfat mass went from 112.7 to 88.4...These results are awesome. We accomplished alot in a short amount of time. Her Dr said these results are incredible and she has not seen these type of results with any of her women patients over 50 years of age. Her Dr said to keep up the great work. Kristine is most likely gonna be moving due to her job in the medical field and Im gonna hate to see her go. I really enjoyed training her in this short amount of time and I am extremely proud of her and her results. She stopped by the gym today to show me her Dr's report and the smile on her face was priceless.
It's times like these that makes my job very rewarding. It makes me proud to see people make life changes and know that I am a part of it. She really put in the work at the gym and outside of the gym. It just shows that people can make big changes with some hard work and dedication. Its all about consistency.
