First off, we only do stripes for white belts. After that you should not need strips to keep you motivated /know where you're at progress wise. You're an adult.

We're also a meritocracy here at Roanoke. When we have 2 white belts ready for a stripe, we have them fight like roosters in Tijuana for it. The winner gets the stripe.

The promotion is undeniable.

If your gym promotes based on class attendance, Gracie Barra you are closer to the clowns in the first video than you are to us. You can't change my mind.

No annual contracts. No sign up fees. No "testing" or "belt promotion" fees. No required school specific uniform. We don't do any of that ridiculous stuff here. We have FREE membership for Teachers and LEO/Fire Department. Military discounts and UNLIMITED trial classes. This is a tough sport and we want to make sure it is a fit for you. We'd love to have you come try us out!

Rules of engagement differ greatly from family to family. I will never tell a child when it is appropriate to use these techniques only how the techniques are to be performed. The authorization for that child using those techniques firmly rest with their parent.

However, my personal belief is that once the fight has started, we don't stop until the threat is firmly under control or neutralized. You should NEVER turn your back on a hostile threat that is still capable of causing you harm.
