From Roanoke Rapids High School Athletic Director Mark Snead:

On Tuesday, May 26, the RRHS Athletic Department will hold its annual athletic banquet to celebrate the successful year in RRHS sports. The night will start with a floating dinner for RRHS athletes and their families from 5-5:45 p.m. in the RRHS cafeteria. The dinner will be followed up by the awards ceremony for RRHS athletes, their families and community supporters. The awards ceremony will start at 6 p.m. in the RRHS auditorium. We look forward to seeing you all there.

The Boys Varsity Tennis Team left it all on the court today but came up short verses the Clinton Dark Horses in the 3rd round of NCHSAA Playoffs. After a fantastic season I want to give a big thank-you to the seniors on this team for their leadership and for being role models on the court as well as in the classroom! Thank-you Jeremy Robertson, Dekker Pernesky, James Prince, Talan Harris, Colby Bobbitt, Kingston Keeter, Jacob Allen, and Jack Moore! You all will be missed.

Yellow Jacket Boys Varsity Tennis Team advance to round 3 in the NCHSAA Dual team playoffs with a 5-1 win over the North Pitt Panthers. They will compete again on Monday, May 4th with the match details to be determined. Congratulations to Dawson Garner for being selected The Player of the Match!!

Shout out to the Boy’s Tennis Team for earning the #6 seed in the NCHSAA 4A Dual Team Playoffs! They will get a first round bye and host the second round match Wednesday, April 29th @4:00 against a To be determined opponent. Good luck Jackets!!
