Dylan “The Commish” participated in a rotating partner round robin fundraiser tournament in Prince George, VA today to benefit Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes.

He finished at the top of the podium after an undefeated 6-0 record in the preliminary round, then 2-1 in the medal round, taking the point differential tiebreaker. Job well done! 🥇👏💪

🏓❤️ Join us for the Breakthrough T1D Pickleball Tourney! ❤️🏓

Come out for an afternoon of fun pickleball, fellowship, and supporting a great cause! This event will feature a Rotating Random Partner Round Robin format, where players are paired with different partners each round and compete against a variety of opponents throughout the tournament.

Why round robins are so much fun:
✅ Lots of games and court time
✅ Meet and play with many different players
✅ Encourages strategy, communication, and adaptability
✅ Great social atmosphere for all skill levels
✅ No partner needed — just show up and play!

💵 Entry fee is only $10, with all proceeds going to Breakthrough T1D in support of finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. Scan the QR code to pay the organizer via CashApp. You can show up & pay cash the day of, however this runs the risk of the bracket being full.

🏅 Medals will be awarded to the top 3 women and top 3 men.
🥤 Water and snacks provided.

This tournament is being hosted in honor of families impacted by Type 1 diabetes and to help raise awareness and support for ongoing research. Come play some pickleball for a purpose and help make a difference!

It was Mixed Doubles Day at the Wilson PPA Challenger event for RRPC members Dylan Waldron & Jen Qualls. They were drawn into a combined division with higher rated teams. They played their hearts out & earned a hard fought 3-3 record full of incredible shots, awesome rallies, & fast hands battles. They finished with the same record as the bronze medalists, but finished 5th in the standings due to tiebreaker rules. Regardless of result, we are so proud of the effort, competitiveness, sportsmanship, & kindness shown on the courts. Y’all are gold medalists in our book! 👏👏👏

To anyone interested in venturing down to Wilson to cheer on Dylan, Aaron, & Jen this weekend, here is a link to get tickets. Grounds passes are $20 per day, granting you access to the entire complex & every match, including the pros. Dylan & Aaron play Saturday (5/23) starting at 9:30am, then Dylan & Jen play Sunday (5/24) starting at 8:00am. Great opportunity to watch some really high level pickleball & support our local players at a tiny fraction of the cost of a full PPA event. Hope to see y’all down there! 👏🙌💥

It’s officially tournament week for RRPC members Dylan Waldron, Aaron Bell, & Jen Qualls as they travel down to Wilson, NC to compete in their respective amateur divisions of the Wilson PPA Challenger event.

Dylan & Aaron will play Men’s Doubles on Saturday 5/23, then Dylan & Jen will play Mixed Doubles on Sunday 5/24. Play hard, strive for gold, but most importantly have fun.

No matter the result, we’re proud of all the hard work, preparation, & growth y’all have shown over the past several weeks. Go get ‘em!!! 💪💥👏

Several RRPC members made the trip to Colonial Heights, VA to participate in a fun and competitive round robin event tonight.

Pictured are Mike R, Dylan, Aaron, Mike V, & Ap representing the club and bringing home plenty of ideas, inspiration, and motivation to continue growing the sport in our community.

Events like these are a great opportunity to meet new players, experience different formats, and see how other areas are building strong pickleball communities. We’re excited to take some of those ideas and put our own local spin on them.

Stay tuned for organized events such as clinics, tournaments, round robins, social play opportunities, and more coming to our area in the months ahead!
