Hicks Personal Protection and Education Children ages 13-17, when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, may also take part in our firearms and personal protection training courses.

Jen and I are excited to get started on our classes with everyone. We are taking a much needed family vacation and will be back June 11th. After that we will be starting classes. Thank you all for giving us your trust to give you the training you want to become a safe and accurate firearm handler.

Hicks Personal Protection and Education is offering individual, couple and family instruction classes. These classes are for familiarization and fundamentals of fi****ms with range time included. We want to assist each of you with building your comfort level with fi****ms while focusing on the basics, most importantly, safety.

• Individual class – 2 hours - $60
• Couples class – 2 1/2 hours - $90
• Family class (up to 4 family members, over the age of 13) – 4 hours - $125 (Additional family members can be added upon request, contact us for pricing information.)

We also are offering Continuing Education Classes to continue learning basic skills or to try a different caliber. This class is $25 per person for 1 1/2 hours on the range. The initial class is required before being able to take the Continuing Education Class.

For each class you will need up to 100 rounds of ammunition which can be brought or purchased from us at cost (we can help with brand choices). No reloads or hand loads will be permitted. Eye and ear protection are available through us or you can bring your own. Fi****ms are available for rent if you do not have your own.

If you do not already own a pistol or are not sure what caliber you would prefer, we offer Caliber Decision Assistance for $20. This allows one magazine through several different calibers to see what fits you best, i.e. 9mm, .380, .22LR, .45ACP, popular revolver calibers are also available.

We currently do not have any group classes on the books, but will be looking to add them in the near future.

We will start booking the individual/couple/family sessions the middle of June. We look forward to working with each of you!

Great News!! Our prices have been set for individual classes. Be on the look out for the official pricing list this afternoon/early evening. If you have requested individual or family classes, we will be scheduling classes starting the middle of June.

Many have contacted us for classes and have stated they are scared of shooting a pistol. We are glad that you each have said you trust us to be your firearm instructors. We are committed to assisting you to get past your fear, that we went out and purchased a great .22LR pistol to assist us in doing so.

We are close to starting the one-on-one training and setting the date for our first classroom training event. We have been in the process of getting the best pricing on supplies (ammo, etc), so we can offer the best training at the most economical price.

Jen and I are so excited about all the positive comments and private messages we have received since first posting our intentions with helping others gain the confidence and knowledge of fi****ms. We have a long list of those wanting one-on-one education and also several family groups.

I have been approached by so many individuals wanting assistance in providing them with the knowledge and confidence in personal protection and education through the use of a firearm. Due to the overwhelming requests and encouragement from others, we have decided to move forward with the founding of Hicks Personal Protection and Education. We will be offering both classroom and hands-on training of the proper use of pistols, rifles, or shotguns for a person's personal protection. We will be providing this services through either a group course or one-on-one services.
