Well we had a great weekend!! We had some ups and downs. My mom caught 2 good bass one that we didn’t really think was gonna do any good and one that was borderline keeper. If you have ever fished lake fork you know there is a slot. Which means anything over 16 inches and under 24 inches has to be let go. Well we had a 15 inch and a bass that was touching 16 inches!! Then you have the strategy and stress to which hour to weigh in! So we came up with a plan that made sense at the time so we headed to the weigh in! We decided to weigh in the smaller bass first. For one we really didn’t think it had a chance at all but wanted to check their scales vs our scale. So we got there and weighed the first bass to our surprise the bass weighed in at 2.08 which was about 3 tenths heavier than my scale!!! My heart dropped when I saw the scale I realized I pulled out the wrong fish!! There my mom was sitting in third place but it was still early. As time went on she kept getting bumped further down. Till she was in the last seat with 30 seconds left! Then the last 10 seconds someone weighs in an over which bumped her out of the winning!! I was beating my self up because I couldn’t believe I grabbed the wrong fish!! So we went back down to the boat in disbelief and I pulled out the other bass. I measured it on the stick and to my surprise it touched 16 again!!! I did grab the right bass our scale was just off!! So now with the bass still touching 16 it’s a gamble because our measuring board could be off too! So we chance and weigh in and hope it’s 16 or under or if it’s over we get a ticket and disqualified. We drove a long way to not take this chance! So with our scale being off we decided this was a fish worth taking a chance on! The videos show the rest of the stories!!!
