Many wrestlers misunderstand prayer.

They pray to win.
They pray for the medal.
They pray for the bracket to break their way.

That misses the point.

Prayer before competition is not a request for victory.
It is a reminder of purpose.

Wrestling is uncertain.
You can do everything right and still lose.
If your prayer is about winning, your peace disappears the moment things go wrong.

Instead, you pray to glorify Him.

You pray to wrestle with courage.
With discipline.
With humility.
With gratitude for the ability to compete at all.

When your goal is to glorify God, the outcome loses its control over you.
Win or lose, your identity stays intact.
Your effort stays honest.
Your character stays steady.

That freedom makes you dangerous.

Because when fear leaves,
you wrestle fully present.

The result is no longer your god.
Your conduct is.

That is the right order.
