We were excited to host the Queens of Kinni tourney in River Falls last week to kick off fall season! Both Charge teams did great going 1-1, and congrats to MN Apex 16u and Thunder Elite 14u on their tourney wins!

This weekend marks the end of a great first season of Charge softball!

We saw some amazing growth from our players from fall to summer this year, they really put in the work and it showed this July. Huge shout out to our players, coaches, and families for setting the bar high in our first season together.

The 12u team competed their way to a record of 17-18 overall this summer, including a second place finish at the Seymour Slam. They finished the season with a long run at NAFA, 4-3 in seven games there. The 14u group finished 31-14, including a win of the 14A division of the S&C Showcase, a top-12 finish in the platinum division of NAFA Nationals this weekend, and playing their way into the top bracket in each tournament this summer.

So - both teams did great in the W and L columns, but in youth sports we know that never tells the full story of development, team, and family. It was a joy to watch these groups be together this last year and build bonds that define successful teams. These are the things that travel with them beyond the field and the facility. We are grateful to be part of the journey.

Congrats to our 14u Charge team, who went 5-2 on the weekend at WI NAFA in Plover to go deep into the Gold Bracket, finishing 5th. The team battled against some big time competition! In this clip, Molly H had the big hit to put the team up 6-3 against FirePro, a game that would finish 6-5 and keep them alive in the bracket.

Our 12u group had a tougher weekend in the W-L column, but we want to shout out pitcher Halen G, who has been carrying the pitching staff through some injuries. She served as a one-person staff for the first three days of the tournament, keeping the Charge in all four games, throwing 20 innings and only issuing four walks. Halen is a great example of the character of this whole group: perseverance, positive attitude, hard work, great teammates. Way to go Halen and keep working hard 12s!

Now, off to a restful and well-deserved mid-summer break for our Charge program. We can’t wait to see what July brings!

It was a Father's Day to remember for Charge Softball today! The 14u crew took home first place in the 14A gold bracket in the S&C Showcase in C**n Rapids, while the 12u crew took home hardware of their own with a second place finish at the Seymour Slam. Way to go Charge!

(You probably want to know about that banana... after a victorious round of Human Claw at Dave and Busters, it has now become the home run talisman for the 14u. And their bats did go BANANAS after it arrived, with 6 home runs during the weekend and 34 runs in two wins on Sunday for the 'ship. GO BANANAS, Charge!)

Charge Weekend Recap from the Lexi Kretsch Tournament - Lights Out, Shenanigans, and Competitive Softball!

14u team - these girls challenged themselves bumping up all the way to the Open Division, and went 1-2 in pool play and 1-1 in bracket play. Along the way, a trip to Canes!

12u team - Competitive games throughout in another challenging A/B division tournament. They worked through a late rain delay Friday night with the lights turning off at 10:45, and got in some team bowling too! The 12s selected Evelyn S as their Lexi Award winner too!

We are really proud of the progress both of these teams are making since they came together in August. They are setting the bar high for Charge Softball - trust the process, play free and play hard, and be a great teammate!

And that’s “lights out” on the first day of pool play in the Lexi Kretsch Tournament for our Charge squads! A win for the 14s today in the Open Division, and our 12s will finish this one they are leading 3-2 tomorrow!

One more pool game left for each tomorrow and then it’s on to bracket play… ?

Some hardware and great times for both our Charge teams this weekend at the Chippewa Valley Raptors Raptor Rumble!

✅ 14u: 4-1 weekend, 🥈in the top Platinum Bracket, while missing some of the team still for HS playoffs (who made the trip to watch and made an awesome cheering section!)

✅ 12u: 2-3 weekend with some tough pool games, ending it on a high note with two W’s today and a walk off HR to take 🥇in the Bronze bracket.

💯 Most important was that early season team time… slushies, campers, and can’t forget the 7 Brew Coffee. Great weekend Charge! Thank you so much CV Raptors for hosting this fun weekend!
