UWRF is getting ready to welcome back students for the 2026-2027 school year which means IHSA season is almost here!

Please join us on September 10th for an information meeting regarding both the western and hunt seat IHSA equestrian teams.

Information regarding team try outs, practice schedules, and show schedules will be available at the information meeting.

Show experience is NOT necessary to compete on an IHSA team so anyone interested in horses and showing is encouraged to attend this meeting.

Over the spring semester, 10 of our IHSA team members have been part of the renowned Colts in Training Program at UWRF. With this year marking the 50th Anniversary Sale, we’re proud to showcase these students and the colts they have poured so much time and effort into.

The UWRF Western IHSA Team is hosting an Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) competition right here in River Falls, WI on December 5–7! We’re looking for dependable, well-trained horses to be part of this exciting collegiate event. 🐴

Horses will be used in Western Horsemanship, Ranch Riding, or Reining—depending on their training and experience level. All horses are handled by experienced riders and staff, and owners will receive compensation for their participation.

IHSA competitions give college riders of all levels the chance to compete on randomly drawn horses- showcasing adaptability, skill, and true horsemanship and your horse can help make that possible!
