The Ripon Royals 2024 Winter 🏀 Season Game Date #2 was completed earlier today‼️

And we crowned 👑 two teams as Week #2 Champions! Congrats to these hard-working young men!

From the Grades 3-4 level, the Bulls squad comprised of Bo Schaapman, Andrew Jung, and Mason Fisher won their 3-on-3 Tournament today 💯

And from the Grades 5-6 level, the Heat squad comprised of Reed Van Elderen, Carlos Blanco, and David Church won their 3-on-3 Tournament today 💯

Royals Game Date #3 is scheduled for 2 weeks from now on Saturday, December 7th 😎

And from the Grades 5-6 level, the Pistons comprised of Luke Vander Veen, Shane Vander Veen, Joseph Cardenas, & Luke Mayfield won their 3-on-3 Tournament today 💯

Royals Game Date #2 is scheduled for 2 weeks from now on Saturday, November 23 👀

Our spring hoops 🏀 season is in the books for our Basketball AAU club which includes our Class of 2026, 2027, & 2028’s. These kids put in 10 weeks of hard work & effort out on the court in skills trainings & game weeks. The future is bright for our Knights’ high school boys 🏀 program 💯

Our Royals 14u 8th grade team played their 1st game of the day at 8:15am this morning in the NorCal Sports TV Route 99 Rumble tourney at Central Catholic HS. And the game was televised & announced this morning on the NCSTV Network via YouTube!

Our Royals 14u team played well after a shaky start but still came away with an impressive 53-33 win over A-T-Dub (Atwater HS)!

Final scores & stats from Thursday’s (5/6/21) VOL league games versus Central Catholic HS at the RCHS Gymnasium:

Varsity: Knights 66, Central Catholic HS 62 in OT; Knights led by William Gilbert 28 pts (including 7 3’s); Braden Van Groningen 17 pts, 13 rebs; Reed Van Der Hoek 9 pts; Lukas Van Groningen 7 pts

The Varsity Knights hosted undefeated Central Catholic HS on Thursday night and it was a game to remember; the Knights faced a CCHS squad that came to play as they fell behind 18-13 after the 1Q as CCHS was hitting shots from the perimeter; the Knights then took control of the game as they used a 17-4 scoring run in the 2Q to take a 30-22 lead at half; Will Gilbert hit 3 threes in the 2Q on way to a 20-point half; however CCHS never went away; the Knights held onto a 44-39 lead after 3Q before CCHS eventually took a brief lead at 45-44 by going on a 6-0 run to start the 4Q; the Knights quickly responded with a 11-4 run of their own to hold a 55-49 lead w/ 2:45 left to play; the Knights relied on the inside scoring of Braden Van Groningen to give them a cushion; but CCHS scored the final 6 points of regulation to send it to OT at 55-55; in overtime the Knights took command as they scored the 1st 6 points then hit FT’s in the final minutes to secure a dramatic 66-62 win; Will Gilbert played spectacularly as he hit a total of 7 threes for a game-high 28 points while Braden Van Groningen recorded a double-double w/ 17 points & 11 boards; Varsity Knights improve to 4-1 in the VOL this season

JV: Central Catholic HS 46, Knights JV 38; Knights led by Luke Crivello 17 pts (including 4 3’s); Jaden Bohn 10 pts; Justin Hofman 4 pts

The JV Knights were very up & down during this contest against a very good opponent; the JV Knights began the game down 6-0 but quickly responded with a 15-3 run to hold a 15-9 lead early in the 2Q; however CCHS returned the favor w/ a 10-0 run of their own & held a 22-19 lead at half; in the 2H the JV Knights had trouble matching physicality w/ their opponent plus had trouble rebounding on both sides of the court which ultimately was the difference in the game; CCHS opened up a 44-30 lead midway thru the 4Q then coasted to a 46-38 win; the JV Knights’ drop their first game of the year & now have a 4-1 record in the VOL this season
